It's easy, and only takes a few moments.I think back to how much Wolf tried to overpay for the Tampa Bay receiver. Pierce is 25 and plays ball the way Drake wants to play ball. If we overpay now, in a few years (if it works out), it'll look like a good deal.I have a really hard time seeing the Pats paying Pierce 30M or more APY, but I also don't actually think the market will be that high. Some of these Twitter blowhards are just carrying the water for agents trying to inflate values at the last minute.
I have been listening to some of the talk about the draft and the feeling isn't great that there's a WR1 that is going to be there at the end of the first round. How is the draft for WR at the end of 1st round?
I want AJ Brown or Pierce if it is reasonable but if the demands are in the 30Mi/year for a WR not named Jamar Chase or Justin Jefferson it's complicated, rather throw that money on a top LG and maybe another OL combination and go with the old formula of trusting your QB can make jags look like stars and throw a 1st rounder on a rookie.
I would like to think that wouldn't be the case. Although in the same vein, it's also another reminder that a player who might have agreed elsewhere might not be completely off the table. Can't even imagine being a Panthers fan...I'm guessing there was a lot of disappointment there last year.Do you really think some team is going to do this TO the Pats, though, Ian? Some GM is going to brazenly steal away a player that already made a man's agreement with Mike Vrabel? I pity the fool who tries to do so...
Exactly. Perfect fit for us. Pay what it takesI think back to how much Wolf tried to overpay for the Tampa Bay receiver. Pierce is 25 and plays ball the way Drake wants to play ball. If we overpay now, in a few years (if it works out), it'll look like a good deal.
Someone asked Vrabel about making deals with free agents and he said that when he goes into a store and see something he wants, he buys it. If they seriously think Pierce has it, I think they'll pay the money.Exactly. Perfect fit for us. Pay what it takes
Calm down Huck, all will be revealed shortly. Take big deep breathes. This SUCKS!!!!! WTF !!!!! WHAT THE HELL ARE THEY WAITING FOR???????? THE AREN'T DOING A GODDAMN THING TO GET BETTER!!!!!!
I WANT MY MONEY BACK!!!!!!!!
Kinds of small for a TE many think he's much better than regarded. My offensive wishlist:
WR Alec Pierce
LG Joel Bitonio
TE Chig Okonkwo
Would also like to let Henry go and replace him with Otton so we can improve the blocking at TE, but seems unlikely based on Reiss' report that Henry is working out in the facility.
My defensive wishlist:
EDGE K'Lavon Chaisson (re-signed)
LB Quay Walker
S Jaylin Hawkins (re-signed)
EDGE Bofe Maye
There was a few reports about a month ago that alluded to the fact his knee is cooked. I’m not sure how true that is though.Do we know what Landrys knee injury is? I’ve looked and can’t find it. I’m not good at research though.
I'm hoping injury settlement.Do we know what Landrys knee injury is? I’ve looked and can’t find it. I’m not good at research though.
I don't know if this is worth a thread of it's own.
I always like these types of signings. They mean that you don't HAVE to draft a replacement but you aren't prevented from drafting an upgrade if a better player is there.Get him back playing his true position of TE and maybe he can carve out a spot
