First time since Superbowl 36 I haven't felt anxious or anything of that nature pretty chill
confidence wise a 7
I also wasn’t too anxious during SB53. Game was close but I never felt they were in real danger of losing.

To me this is house money after I picked them to win 7 games this year.

If the Patriots lose and then struggle next year, would fans look back and still say they were playing with "house money"? These are not the BB/Brady Patriots who you could count on to easily rebound from a SB defeat.

There are no guarantees. Health, breaks, refs, and the schedule all have an impact. Sometimes you have to strike when the iron is hot.

Turns into? Have you watched them in the postseason at all? 3, 16, and 7 points, and most of that 16 was short fields.
While this is true, they've been doing it against some mediocre offenses with questionable QB play.

This is far and away the best offense they played since the Bills December 14th (and we let them score 35 and didn't win that game). You really have to go back to October 5th to the first game to find another game against a comparable offense where we really held them in check.

Unless this is a Super Bowl 53 type thing where the defense just really leveled up in the playoffs and proved it against a good offense, it's going to be very difficult near impossible to win the way we've won the last 3 weeks.

Agreed. The only reason they are "kinda" playing with house money is because they got out of the AFC and nobody is really expecting them to win. This was a surprise.

But realistically, yeah this isn't the Brady era, we are still trying to rebuild and we still do have a great team in the division. There's no guarantee of an automatic AFC East win and playoff berth next year.

I agree with a previous post you made. It will be near impossible to win if the offense from the previous three games shows up. Maye should have it drilled in his head to throw the ball away if pressure/a sack is imminent. Do not try to be a hero on each down. Live to punt/see another down. Take the ball if you win the toss. Run and if they can't stop it, you are set up nice for play-action pass, killing clock, and tiring their D out potentially. If they stop the run, you at least have an idea as to what Seattle is doing right. So you can go look at things on the tablet and adjust.

Why would I not kick to Seattle first? Because I think a young QB needs to get rid of the nerves as quickly as possible. This is a huge game...but it's still football. Get him in the game without the worry of being in a deficit already.

The Bills will still be a threat next season for sure. Baltimore & KC will certainly improve. Jags, Texans, and Chargers are not going away. Nobody can tell the future. But one thing is certain--a SB win cannot be taken away. A SB loss is a gut punch. At least for me it was.

I've watched a lot of football over my life, and this Pats team caught my eye when they came into the Superdome and beat my Saints. The score to that game shouldn't have been close. As I recall, there were 2 touchdowns called back and a few other dubious calls that kept the Saints in it, but we knew we didn't have a real chance. Every time the Pats needed a big play on 3rd down, Maye delivered in the clutch.

I felt that this Pats team could go all the way back in November. I've never believed in Buffalo, given their QB displays seriously low IQ in situations where he can't sit back and throw (Josh Allen is the new Cam Newton. Too reliant on physical strength and running opposed to pocket passing).

Seattle has not been tested in months. The last time they faced a non-divisional rival team was Carolina, and that game was 3-3 into the second half until Bryce Young finally had his usual meltdown and spotted their defense 2 easy turnovers that led to a 14 point swing. This same Seahawks team almost lost to the Rams and looked like they were on their last leg in the 4th quarter.

I might end up being completely wrong. I'm confident in the Pats pulling this off though, and I wouldn't be surprised if they win comfortably by multiple scores.

Agreed. With 2 weeks to rest and prepare I'd be absolutely stunned if the offense looked like they have this postseason.. alot of the offensive disruption has been at the hands of some elite defenses.. personally I believe Houston presents the biggest challenges defensively in the league.

The offense should be better & they will need to look closer to the top 5 offensive unit they've been all season to give us some sledding to winning.

Yup, I still hate the house money talk. For all we know, this might be our last trip to a SB for another 10 plus years.

The Cowboys were a dynasty and haven't even been back to a Conference title game in like 30 years. The Steelers and Packers haven't been to a Super Bowl in 15 years. The Raiders last Super Bowl appearance was in 2002.

These are all big brand legendary franchises.

You can hate it all you like, but all of us regardless of whether you want to accept it or not have been playing with house money since the team got their 10th win.

As for not going to the Super Bowl for another 10 years nothing in life is guaranteed except death and taxes.

Yeah, that is kind of my point. Also, not everyone here picked us to suck this year.

I didn't post an official prediction, but I hoped for a winning season. Everything after that was gravy.
