I may check it out — quite a few people online mentioned it! Thanks for the tip!!
If you make it look for me. I’ve never been able to blend into a crowd. I’ll probably be sitting along the wall in front of the door, facing the big screen. Most likely I’ll have GDT open on my iPad so I know when the sky is falling ( hint, continuously from before kickoff).

Same here this year.

Since 2001 I have ended up watching all of the superbowls where the Patriots are playing alone, except one. That one was a watch party where I was the only Pats fan and it was 2007. After that trauma I was quite happy to watch the 2nd dynasty ones alone again.

This year my oldest daughter learned I got up to watch the AFC championship at 3am and wants to join me so we can watch the superbowl together. Luckily it's at 6.30am so much easier, and I will probably end up with all the kids by the end of the 1st quarter.

Hoping its a big win, and the start of a new tradition.
That’s great. I’m trying to figure out the time zone. Are you in Vietnam?

Do any of you have any traditions/superstitions you do or follow during and before etc. game day? Only shaving when you lose or win the SB. If I’m not mistaken, quite a few of our players ended up with lumberjack beards several years ago. Mostly OL if remembering it right. I can’t say I remember seeing TFB rocking that look though.

Last year I felt as if me watching the game resulted in losses, which I came to realize it was mostly coach NoMayo….
I’ve had a playoff beard going since the end of the Miami game. It’s very gray and makes me look 10 lbs heavier and 10 years older, but well worth it!

Since 2019, in one way I was relieved not to have to stress in the postseason and especially in SB years.

For the last six years, I could actually watch the game with other people (I live in NYC, so not a lot of Pats fans around...I was so traumatized by the horns honking and people cheering in the streets after the Magic Helmet Catch that I didn't even look at a newspaper for an entire week...or at least until the damn parade was over.)

But now I'm back to my Dynasty Days SB weekend routine.
-Avoid sports media except for this Forum starting Saturday morning.
-Watch the game only with family.
-Ignore all the pregame nonsense on the day of the game.
-Turn my TV on at 10 in the morning on gameday to be sure my cable was working and then turn it off until 30 minutes before Kickoff and even then mute it until the coin toss.
-I'll make some snacks and have some drinks, but won't really enjoy them unless the Pats put the game away.

I don't recommend that as a practice, but it works for me.

Go Pats!

The last time we played the Seahawks in the Super Bowl I had my brother over and when Malcom Butler INT happened I screamed so loud my 4 month old baby was woken up from his nap. My now 11 year old son wanted his uncle over for this one but my brother has other plans. Whatever if we lose it's on him! Lol

I apologize beforehand. I’m watching alone this year, every time I’ve watched alone, they lost the SB. Hopefully they break the streak this year.

Usually I watch at my sister’s, my brother in law, who is a huge sports fan, he’s not gonna be home this year, his limo service is in SF working the game. My nephew might have to work. Plus the weather is gonna be insanely cold, so happy to not have to leave my place on Sunday. All those going to parties, enjoy yourselves, hopefully we’ll all be celebrating after the game.

I live in NY as well (Long Island actually), but I’m in NYC 10 times a month for work. I believe there is a Patriot’s bar in Manhattan, just haven’t gone to it yet.

I wouldn’t call what I do during Pat’s games routines, I would call them crazy superstitions. I don’t wear Pat’s gear during the game, I’ve had bad luck doing that.

The Pats won their first 3 SB’s when I lived in the SF Bay Area. In 2007, I was back in NYC, I actually thought about going to SF to watch the game. Of course I didn’t go, and they lost. My family wanted me to watch the 2007 & 2011 SBs with them, but my logic was that they didn’t win when I watched with them, so I watched both alone. They lost both.

I started watching SBs with my family in the 2014 SB, and they won 3 out of 4 SBs. We would all sit in the same places (I insisted). In 2018, I had to take a bathroom break, and the Pats started doing well while I took a pee break, they were on their only TD drive, jokingly my family said, don’t come out (knowing how stupidstitious I am), the Pats are doing well, of course I didn’t come out until after they scored the TD (you’re welcome).

I am ridiculously superstitious. My mom gave me Patriots socks for Christmas in 2014. I wore them every Sunday game day since that Christmas, and they won every game. They lost their magic in 2015 and we lost the SB.

I’m not embarrassed by my superstitions, it’s who I am.

Hmm, maybe that’s why I look old and fat. Nope, I’m just old and fat.

I remember the old joke, the camera makes you look 10 pounds heavier, yeah, well how many cameras are on you ?

Idk how people do parties. Parties are just a distraction to me. I can only watch something at a party if I don't care about what I'm watching that much.
So true, one time my nephew invited 3 of his friends to watch the game, not ONE of them knew the game of football, and they were talking about EVERYTHING but the game. I discreetly asked my nephew if he could watch the game in his room with his friends.

Unfortunately I will be watching at B-Dubs because it’s someone’s B-Day and we have to be there. We will make it work but Im not thrilled about it, would rather watch it at home my ourselves.

I'm leaning towards just staying home because going to a friends house is too damn distracting. If it were just how we using watch football and just us with the his wife, I'm good. But there's going to be family and other friends yapping where I'm not going to be able to enjoy the game.

Best seat in the house is your own with your favorite snacks, drinks and whatever else you want to eat.

So...what about adding a little spice to this thread? What will you be wearing during the Super Bowl? Mature responses might be a favorite jersey. All response entertained.

Can't grow a beard. I am a girly mon.

On one hand I am jealous you can grow it @Patjew , then on the other hand, I’m kinda glad that mine grows splotchy and looks terrible…. After a month plus of trying to grow it, I have to get rid of it due to the itch. As much as I’d like one, I’ve ALWAYS had to bail on each and every attempt…

For any of those in the Central FL area ( Orlando specifically), do you know of any goings on pre/during/and post SB? Other than possibly crashing a friends get together, I haven’t seen anything regarding a get together…that’s one thing I’ve noticed since moving here in the 90s. If the local teams are not involved, people just aren’t that interested…which I understand…no one wants to pay to watch another team…

Awesome thanks for the heads up. I plan to go! I'll message you this weekend! Go Pats!!!!

Will be watching at my nephew's house on his 100" TV. It is going to be hectically cold, so I probably won't indulge in my usual half-time cigar.

Only fans will be allowed.
