Like I said, it's trading an outside chance that we might be able to win one with Parcells over the reality of just being the most successful franchise of this era.

In the end, his decisions were validated by the results. Anything else is guess work
Parcells was never going to stay anywhere long enough to win 6 Superbowls. Great coach who hurt his own career with unchecked restlessness

Giving credit where it’s due, I think Pete Carroll had a fair amount of draft input and may have been the force behind drafting Faulk. We’ll never know.

But yes, Grier wasn’t great with offense other than one Terry Glenn…still a fav of mine despite how it ended.
He wasn't great with defense either.

I was a teenager and this was pre massive draft coverage but didn’t he draft Law, Milloy, Mcginest, Bruschi etc? Or was that more Parcells?

Tells you all you need to know how much of an incompetent buffoon Notorious Bobby Idiot Grier was.
He was a really bad GM. They already lost Martin, but also letting Sam Gash walk was idiotic. Tony Carter was decent, but it was a clear drop off from Gash. They couldn't replace Jimmy Hitchcock. Chris Canty and Tebucky Jones were awful. Letting Willie Clay walk in favor of Chris Carter was a nail in the coffin move. He was awful.
He convinces Kraft not to resign Curtis because he isn't durable as he was hurt during 96 and missed time in 97. So what does he do? He drafts Robert Edwards who had knee issues at UGA and once he goes down signs Terry Allen who had two surgically repaired knees. With the exception of KFaulk none of the RBs he drafted could play.
And yet Martin still rushed for over 1,000 yards in that era while missing games. From what I've read, Bob thought he had Martin cornered as a restricted FA therefore force Martin to take his lowball offer. Meanwhile, Parcells was under the impression Martin was staying until he got wind that Martin was unhappy. Also, Parcells also knew about their cap situation and crafted the "poison pill" with Tannenbaum. I'm surprised the NFL didn't outlaw that deal since Parcells had knowledge of their cap situation.

Although Martin leaving sucked, what we're really mad about was the lack of replacement. What if Fred Taylor dropped in the draft and NE took him instead of Robert Edwards? We're not having this conversation. What if NE took Randy Moss? One year later the Colts seemed crazy to trade Marshall Faulk for a measly 2nd round pick. They took Edgerin James which I think that exercise was pointless. Champ Bailey should've been the pick. While Robert Edwards stats were in the ball park of Martin, there still seemed to be a drop off.

Faulk was pretty awful in 1999 and 2000. You could see in his first two seasons there was no way he could be a lead back in this league. BB saved his career by moving him to a reserve/receiving back role.

I was a teenager as well in the 90's and wasn't able to get the information we can get today. I was always under the impression Grier was responsible for the 1996 draft.

Aside from Curtis leaving, the moves make sense as long as you are drafting and developing players well. Jimmy Hitchcock wasn't a bad corner in the right system.

Just look at what BB did with T-Buck. He was drafted as a corner. Sucked. Day 1 BB moves him to FS and he did a good job. BIG could evaluate talent but couldn't put the right part in the engine.

BIG thought Faulk was a feature back. Jesus.

Going into draft day 1996 the board was already set by Tuna, Bucko Kilroy, BIG, and Charlie Armey. Bill wanted Tony Brackens. The board had Glenn with a higher rating. BIG wanted Glenn. Kraft sided with BIG. Tuna leaves the draft room. The rest is history.

Bucko Kilroy. Don’t know a lot about him but have heard NFL people call him a legend.

Keep on piling on the disrespect.

They're coming and hell's coming with them.

Bucko was architect of Fairbanks teams
...and stayed on with the team through the 80s mentoring **** Steinberg and served as a trusted scout for Tuna and later BB into the mid 2000s

One of the great personnel/FO guys of the last 70 years. Not only was he deft at evaluating talent, but organizing it in a way teams can select talent in a methodical way. His system was the foundation of the modern day NFL Draft.

Bucko Kilroy. Don’t know a lot about him but have heard NFL people call him a legend.

A legend that was no myth, Bucko Kilroy was the genuine goods. If he 'd have had Krafty Bob for an owner instead of the broke ass Sullivans constantly under cutting him and selling off / not paying Bucko's players the Pats might well have 10 Lombardis

Oh well, HOF blue-balls for both Kraft and BB.

Fortunately, Bill has JorDON to help relieve his stress and assuage his frustration.

Hopefully, Bob has figured out how to hire a mature Asian masseuse without the whole world knowing about it.

It would be really "handy" if he did so.
I guess no happy ending to the HOF voting.
