I just mentioned it in another thread. We thought it was a joke for years, but Brady recently mentioned it was a real thing and it was so bad he seriously considered retirement after the 2004 Super Bowl win. I believe this was why he changed his diet and training.

So now we see Maye's wife all over social media and TV baking cookies, cakes, etc. -- loads of sugary treats. That might need to change.

Proving once again that DVOA is worthless as a football stat.

All of those teams (except the 07 Patriots) got beaten by a pretty noticeably superior team.

Still no one has been able to actually explain to me its application. No one. Ever.

So many of these exotic statistics are meaningless to me. Just more stuff to throw against the wall.

I think that Chaisson is gone. He'll get signed to a big number that the Pats won't match.. I really like how Ponder has come on.,
having Ponder, adding a 1st or 2nd round draft pick, Re-signing Jennings and adding someone to replace Chaisson and Landry (who I think might retire) is what we'll see.
I've been playing around with mock draft sims the past couple of weeks, not sure the value will be there at edge in the first 2 rds. Now of course rankings and actual picks are dynamic and will change.
As of now, it does seem like OT and OG and DT could be the best value when we pick. LB and TE are a wildcard.
If we wait till rd 3 or 4 to go Edge, watch out for Malachi Lawrence or Zion Young.
We have money, I think Chaisson stays here.

Key to this game, pure and simple: forcing a Darnold implosion. Make him afraid enough of ghosts to deliver turnovers and all the Patriots will need to do offensively is play close to the vest. That's the recipe for Lombardi No. 7.

I believe something similar was said about the 2001 Rams. I don't why these people always forget that it's a team sport.
Seattle lead the league in point differential at 191.
We were 3rd at 170 and tops in the AFC.
I don’t see any reason to think Seattle is going to dog-walk us up and down the field.
I guess people are still hanging their hats on our “easy schedule”?

The most meaningful stat in ranking a team defense is points allowed. You subtract special team points and defensive scores against since obviously the defense didn't allow those.
Patriots defense was ranked #4 for the 2025 season.
Same with offenses: points scored( by offenses only)
Patriots offense ranked #2.
The only other team even close to the Patriots high rankings is Seattle. But Patriots combined rankings are better than Seahawks.
There's a reason these 2 teams are in the Super Bowl. They're the 2 best teams in the NFL.

These games almost never go as anticipated.

Im surprised that the spread hasn't risen since the majority expect the Seahawks to just roll over the Pats like roadkill. All the Seahawks boards already have the champagne on ice and wonder how much Seattle will win by. Oh, Seattle will score and the Pats could even be down 2 scores, but as we have seen that the game is 60 minutes and crazy things occur that nobody could predict. The Pats are getting no respect just like in 2001.

Most NFL fans couldn't name a Patriot on defense except for Gonzo. Some media clown prior to Pats game claimed he didn't know who Marcus Jones was. NE got that ball first and Jones ran the KO back for a TD. Either that media guy was ignorant and really didn't know who he was or he was throwing shade on Jones purposely.

Back in the day if one team was heavily favored, there would be at least a double digit spread. Yet this is 4.5. Is this Vegas trying to get bets in on Seattle or do they legitimately believe the Patriots have a very good chance to win?

Still confused sometimes as to how bets/spreads etc work.

Please. Before she turns Drake into late-career Sonny Jurgensen, who looked a lot like late-career Babe Ruth.

Those are all the stats I need plus my eyeballs.

The Pats can get in Seattle CB Tariq Woolens head.

He is the one who was taunting the Rams bench and drew a 15 yard penalty and a Rams 1st down. According to a Seahawks board that was not the first time this guy has erupted. He sounds like a stick of dynamite ready to go off with a little persuading.
