I want to know the over/under on how many times the Bulterception gets mentioned in the lead up to and during the game.

Seriously, though, tough test. But unless a freak blizzard strikes the Bay Area in two weeks, I think Maye will be fine.

That said, I don't rule out one of those weird February atmospheric rivers that have been a thing lately.

Put this in the wrong thread, meant for this one:

Toughness matters. The NFL West is flashy, and I know this might not apply to Seattle, BUT Seattle hasn't played Patriots level toughness.

The Rams are a pattycake team.

Durden, Barmore, Milt Williams have to wreck things.

Seattle is not the 2007 Patriots but we need to do what the Giants did to us in '07, and what we did to the Rams in '18. McVay consistently coaches soft teams. It happens over and over. They may be talented, yes Fiske and Verse are very good players, but the rest lack toughness. The worst Super Bowl in 30 years was the Rams - Bengals bowl of a few years ago, they played pattycake, didn't hit, and the execution was pretty bad.
I’ve been thinking about the toughness aspect of this as well. The weather will be nice in Santa Clara which is going to feel normal for Seattle and like a dream for us. The Pats have been playing smash mouth football for nearly a month now.

Love it.

That's going to be posted on every wall at Gilette and Vrabel is going to keep hammering that "they hate us," mentality.

If I know him, he's going to tell the defense they are not getting any respect. He's going to have them foaming at the mouth.

JSN is one of the best route runners in the league, had one of the best seasons of any receiver in years, and Darnold has been playing incredible QB, rarely has a bad game. You would think Gonzalez on JSN and Carlton Davis on Kupp, and Marcus Jones on Shaheed.

But this isn’t Madden Football, putting Gonzalez on JSN doesn’t guarantee that he’d be able to shut him down. Same for Marcus Jones vs Shaheed. I can easily see the Seahawks scoring at last 25+ points, which means the Pats would have to score 30+ points. I guess to kill the snake, you have to cut off the head, meaning they have to get to Darnold, have to harass him all game.
One option is to put Gonzo on their #2 receiver and double JSN, Bill used to do that sometimes.

Honestly, if I were a Seahawks fan I'd feel confident too. The have an outstanding team--and if the only Pats' games you'd seen this year were the playoffs, you'd be wondering what all the Drake Maye fuss was about.

But if you've watched the Patriots all season, you know what the fuss is about. And you know that this team has been special.

He did throw for three TDs against Houston. Not sure the Seahawks are as good as Houston on D. Time will tell. It is possible that the Pats D make Darnold look like Stroud. JSN is a problem.

at least the SB should be good weather unlike these last 3 playoff games. Maye should be better because of that

We assumed the whether would be to our advantage. Maybe Maye just isn't good in bad weather.

Santa Clara is in NoCal and I wasn't unhappy. The Pats are going to the freakin' Super Bowl, how the hell could any of us (okay, any of us outside of Cow, Sam & FCB) be unhappy?
I used to work with a guy from Northern California, I believe he was from Redding, he used to get so mad when people used to say San Francisco and Oakland were Northern California, he used to have a road atlas on his desk and show it to the person he was arguing with, we used to do it just to bug the hell out of him, however looking at a map I used to think he had a point.

In case any of you need some ammo for trolls that say Maye didnt get the 1st down on the sneak
