This sucks... Its the only all sports radio network that services southern RI... The 98.5 The Hubs broadcast range dies out just north of Hopkinton RI...

EEI ain't the greatest station, but when its the only game in town, what else are you going to do?

The only other sports station you can get on the radio is WFAN out of New York...

In the time of streaming, I don't think this is a big deal. I live in NC. I listen to the Sportshub on podcasts so I can only listen to stuff I want to listen to and fast forward through the rest. I do sometimes listen to both channels live on Audiocy for like Patriots pre and post game. Even when I am back in Mass, I never listen to the actual radio anymore.

Anyone in RI can download the listen to WEEI through their website, an app like Audiocy, or download shows as podcasts.

What Happened to The Score in RI? Is that around anymore? Gresh got his start there IIRC.

Stream the pods.

I agree it's easier to just turn on the radio, but it's only more for step to find what you want on spotify.

Don't they stream all their shows live on their youtube channel? or at least their 6am-6pm daily stuff

i was listening to podcasts long before everyone else... Matthew Berry (i think it was him) did an excellent one way back in the day ... there were a few others... but meh, it was a pain in the ass back then, as much as i am sure it is now

now they are a thing... who knew?

The first on-demand radio show and the first podcast

In August 2000, the New England Patriots launched the Internet radio show PFW in Progress. It was a live show that was recorded and made available for on-demand download to visitors of Patriots.com, although this wasn't technically a podcast at the time, since the technology had not yet been invented to automatically download new episodes—a key differentiator that sets podcasts apart from simple audio files that can be downloaded manually. In 2005, two years after the introduction of the iTunes platform, the show was also offered there as a bona fide podcast. Today, it is still in existence, under the name Patriots Unfiltered, and is available on all podcast platforms.

They've always been ahead of the curve. Back in the day, the Patriots' site was state-of-the-art and light-years ahead of the rest of the league and, in some cases, various portions of the internet. Fred Kirsch really did a great job when it came to pushing the envelope with what they were doing. The NFL forcing everyone onto the same platform was one of the worst decisions in the history of bad decisions, especially for a team that was doing it better than everyone else.

sometimes its just easier to turn on the car and go without worrying about streaming, etc...

If you got Carplay, using an app like Audiocy isn't much different than using the radio.

Today I Learned that WEEI is doing worse than Public Radio.

Not trying to be funny. But they really use terms like "southern Rhode Island" in Rhode Island? I mean is "Central" Rhode Island an intersection?

Just download the Audacy app. It’s how I listen to WEEI to and from work everyday, from Nashville.

Some people don't want to download apps, aka, let me find out all your personal information and sell it to anybody/everybody.

Edit: ancient history from the 1983 Patriots Media Guide:

I'm confused at the headline vs the comments.

Is weei done or is it done in OP market?

*Edit

Link cleared it up.
