OT: Antonio Brown suspended for lying about vaccination status

Actually, to twist what I said into "Brady does not care about football anymore" is one of the stupider things said here.

TB12 was created because Giselle showed Brady that football related revenue stops when a player stops playing, just as she faced as a model, unless an equity brand is created that expands and builds longevity. While his day to day focus is on football because he's competitive and loves playing a game, his long term focus is on TB12 and that is entirely built on his promoting himself as an athlete that is breaking the norm for success while aging.
Of course, and god knows, 260-300 million not to mention all the endorsement deals aren't enough to last ANYBODY a lifetime.

Because he's right. If the league actually cared about this, it would take a weekend to verify every card from teams around the league. It's the same reasoning as Spygate...if you're going to actually investigate something to learn the truth and bring forth accountability, why stop with one team and one complaint? This investigation led to other rumors (like the one with Brown) that many players around the league were doing this. This why sports scandals are always inherently unfair.

He might be right that players on other teams are doing this, but he needs to take accountability on behalf of the Bucs instead of pointing fingers. They let a player dupe them. BTW, pointing fingers at other teams is what Pats fans did during spygate and it made us look foolish in my view.

Could not agree more with this post. Brady is in the unique position to use his success on the field to promote his TB12 approach off the field. He has a chance to eventually get to Jordan level if he continues to seed his brand within his excellence on the field. He has the best advisor in Giselle.

Run out and play during a pandemic. Are you F*cking out of your mind, THIS week in MA, covid cases were up to 4600 DAILY because of all the Thanksgiving movement, ,just like it spikes WHENEVER large groups gather. Just to put that number into perspective, last summer we got down to just over 200 cases per day.

Going outside is the safest thing you can do. I thought this was generally understood. Remember all of the pictures of people at the beach with warnings that everyone on the beach was going to die? FALSE. Remember everyone saying college football games were going to be super spreaders? FALSE. Staying inside is the worse thing you can do. Your writeups after the games are great, your COVID takes are consistently awful.

I remember photos of people on the beach during early COVID when the outdoor spread wasn't known yet, and statements of concern. I've never seen a single photo or article that said everyone was going to die, or even get sick, or even certainty about the spread. Just concern that until we knew more, it could be considered anti social behavior to do so.

We've no data on the risk of standing 1 foot next to someone who has the disease and is coughing, at an outdoor venue. We just don't know.

Your COVID takes are far worse than Ken's.

For what, exactly? You don't know anything about what the Bucs did or didn't do. The Packers were fined; other NFL teams last year were fined. The Packers were not only allowing Rodgers to do his pressers without a mask; he was traveling on the team charter, going to team events, etc. This is blatantly and willfully violating the rules and much, much worse than a bunch of amateur football idiots being duped because they took a medical card at face value.

The Bucs, it appears, were not even fined (to my knowledge) or slapped on the wrist for anything. It doesn't sound like Arians is mad at the NFL at all; it sounds like he's mad at the players. As such, his comments about looking into this around the league isn't aimed at attacking other organizations but at other players who also scammed everyone.
BTW, pointing fingers at other teams is what Pats fans did during spygate and it made us look foolish in my view.
Law, investigation, punishements...these things are rooted in equal treatment, precedent, due process, etc. It's one of the few areas where whataboutism is relevant.

LOL, Arians is saying the league needs to look at all the other teams for fake vaccination cards
They do. I would like to know why the NFL for some reason didnt fine GB or rodgers until Rodgers actually got covid and it came out he was not vaxx'd yet it was said they already knew. So they are saying they knew yet let him break protocal for months? BS the league did not know he was vaxx'd or he would have been fined the day after he broke protocal

What I know is that hundreds of thousands of people died from covid. Friends of mine, family, etc and that goes for others that have lost someone. It was as serious of an outbreak that we have had in the world in years and years. I had covid, its not the flu, its not a cold, its a serious horrible thing that can trash your lungs and kill you. I have no idea why some didnt take it serious other than that is how humans are.

Since we’re talking about the legendary Covid...If you want to know if you’re immune to it, do this to find out:

Walk through LAX airport. Fly to Florida and walk around town for a few days with the fellow anti maskers/vaxxers. Fly back to LAX. Or do this in reverse and visit Huntington Beach (Main street specifically).

If you didn’t get it, you’re not going to. Congratulations, you have a superior immune system and Fauci is not happy with you. My 75 year old Dad went to hell and back and came back unscathed. And this was before the vaccine came out. My Dad tries every day to get it, but Covid is allergic to him.

One of the scientists I work with is putting together a "world without vaccines" infographic that shows how society would have developed if we'd not had them. Early drafts are fascinating. Reality is that most people alive now either would have never existed, or never met their mate, which means that none of their children would exist. Amazing little piece of scientific research.

well not everyone is that lucky

wait......I watch infographics daily, its literally my favorite thing I do during the day. I am literally watching it now.

I am not going to argue with you. If you are genuinely curious you can Google it. Fauci recently said that college football games are likely super spreader events - Google it. And people at a college football game are almost shoulder to shoulder, 1 foot or less apart.

I have no COVID takes other than it is safer outside, so if you are concerned, go outside. If you don't think that is true, what can I say.

I feel bad for him.

Hmm while I agree the vaccine is probably safer. The disease poses an extremely minimal risk to healthy people under 50. So the risk of dying or getting really really sick for them is basically zero, vs the risk of the vaccine having some unknown side effects or reactions which is greater than zero, I can see some intelligent people making that decision. And before people say what an idiot I am, please provide a list of all the professional athletes who have died from covid.
Actually, the unknowns of the long term effects of the DISEASE are probably the scariest part of getting the disease. There have been signs of what the disease does to peoples organs long term, even those who were asymptomatic.

Re: the NFL, you couldn't hire 3-4 temporary, remote workers to verify all of the vaccination cards around the league that weren't done team facilities?
Since 80% of players were vaccinated on-site at team facilities, and 5% not at all, it's only the remaining 15% that claim to have gotten it done at some remote site that would need to be checked. So about 10 players per club. That would be an easy short-term gig, and I imagine that as long as the people checking have the right credentials to access the online databases, checking the lot numbers listed and vaccination dates would be about a 5 minute process, tops, for each player. 3-4 people could check out everything in one work day and make it home for supper.

Now back to the OT COVID discussion:

"as of March 29, 2021 there have been 2,509 reported vaccine related deaths among the over 158 million people who have had at least one dose of a COVID vaccine.
Dr. Alcendor points out this is about .0017% of people or 2-5 persons per one million. According to the CDC, the odds of being struck by lightning are 2 in 1 million."

  • Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine recipients had a mortality rate of 4.2 deaths per 1,000 vaccinated people per year after first dose, and 3.5 deaths after second dose.
    • The unvaccinated comparison group had a mortality rate of 11.1 deaths per 1,000 people per year.
  • Moderna COVID-19 vaccine recipients had 3.7 deaths per 1,000 people per year after the first dose, and 3.4 deaths after the second dose.
    • The unvaccinated comparison group had a mortality rate of 11.1 deaths per 1,000 people per year.
  • Johnson & Johnson COVID-19 vaccine recipients had 8.4 deaths per 1,000 people per year.
    • The unvaccinated comparison group had a mortality rate of 14.7 deaths per 1,000 people per year.
This isn't going to change anyone's mind, but you are approximately 2.5 times more likely to die if unvaccinated ( I was expecting higher odds).
Your chances of dying from the vaccine are pretty slim.

I’m 4 PhD behind so someone probably said already, but.

Ok but the general population earns avg say 60-75K. These guys avg 350K or more. Compare apples to apples. I would bet the crime rate is higher than their peer earners in general.
Helps to have a fall guy
