This was the first game in which they missed Gronk both as a blocker and a receiver. The offense looked like a unit going through some attrition right now. Defense looked phenomenal. Getting White, Edelman, and Develin back will get the offense looking like itself again.

The commentators made mention that AB was working with the first team unit the whole week. So the Patriots had to adjust their game plan on Saturday, and still put up 30, despite losing their best WR half way through the game :D

I would expect the offense to play better next week since AB is gone.

Actually, it's more about schemes and assignments and technique than plays. And it does matter. Otherwise, you would be blocking badly in two different schemes with different techniques, so there's more to fix. Different plays can have similar blocking schemes and assignments, requiring the same techniques.
Im talking about assessing rb play.
The blocking that existed on the plays the entire got the ball is what it is.
Burkhead did better because the blocking was better on those plays.
Your argument seemed to be it doesn’t matter because it’s the same ol.

I too wish Michel could just morph through the solid bodies that his patchwork OL is incapable of blocking.

Sometimes you gotta wonder if people actually watch the games when they complain about Michel. Ironically most of them would be the first ***** about how little separation WRs are getting to defend Brady.

What’s up with your eagerness to diss Brady at every turn?

Also part of the problem is that Sony Michel is predictable. Either McDaniels is being dumb and not utilizing him in the passing game or he’s not good at it. If he remains so one dimensional he’ll be getting stuffed at the line for a long time to come.

That's not what I posted at all.

Agreed. For what is once in a blue moon I am in total agreement. Today is why Krafty should have kept his yapper shut. A good D will make it infinitely more difficult to score as after JE went out they struggled offensively for the most part. Having AB out there makes a world of difference.

However the white knights here and elsewhere couldn’t help themselves and basically drove him out.

Since he got released by the Pats, how many new salacious allegations have surfaced? I’ve been busy but.....seems to me we know the answer to that. And that answer should tell the white knights everything but it won’t. They are already onto the next mission.
I agree to an extent. I didn’t want him to be released but at the same time it was getting difficult to argue that it wasn’t causing a gigantic distraction and storm cloud over the organization.

Looking at it now, we sure could use him out on the field. :(

So you think power runs are particularly comparable to the draws and whatnot what Burkhead has on his plate ?

The similarities end at a player is getting handed the ball and runs with it. Which is where the jet sweep analogy comes from. They are completely different types of players. Y

Would you also compare a slot corner and a outside corner, a pure slot receiver and a true X or a Y and F tight end ?

I think you took my post as a criticism of Michel. It's not. In some instances, rbs run similar plays. In others they don't. Sometimes the blocking schemes , assignments and so on are similar and sometimes they're not.

Have you done a complete analysis of the Burkhead plays and Michel plays to determine whether it is only better blocking that determines why Burkhead is gaining more yardage? I know I haven't. As others have suggested before me, it may be that Michel is not (or cannot) be used in space and so when he's in the game you the play is easier to defend because the Pats have fewer ways to use him and DCs know it.

They are playing different roles. Burkhead is running draws out of a spread formation on pass or run/pass neutral downs. Michel is running power RBs out of running formations.
Bad blocking has a much greater effect on one than the other.

Meyers being in for 64% of the snaps is not a good thing.

Not sure why Deus believes it's a bad thing that Meyers was on the field taking snaps normally meant for Edelman..

I think Burkhead taking so many snaps and Harris not getting any is slightly perplexing. I also think it's perplexing that they aren't using Sony in the passing game (as I mentioned before).

I suspect that you know the meaning of "emergency backup".

.

Why dress Harris if you aren't going to give him any touches?
.

Why would Michel be featured as a receiver. Bulkhead does fine, and White when he is active.

I agree. I'm a bit disappointed that he hasn't been featured in the passing game as a receiver.

lol, oh please.

Again, how much front page news regarding salacious accusations has Brown had since his Patriots release outside of grievance news? Compare the current AB news with Pitt and Oakland. Quiet as a baby at rest, at least as far as potential criminal or PITA behavior.

When he was with the Pats, daily accusations and innuendo. The white knights, instead of hearing accusations and saying let’s wait for evidence, accused and convicted him in their minds (yours as well apparently) and helped drive up a frenzy of emotion.

It worked. Problem is white knights are the equivalent of useful idiots. Only they do massive damage with no repercussions.

I suspect you know the logic behind disguising plays and not telegraphing them..

Gordon is a friggin’ beast.

Yes, he is, and his play should only get better moving forward, given his late start and still present need to get more on the same page with Brady. If he can stay healthy and clean, he can be a high-end difference maker at WR.

It's not the first time the Patriots cut someone over accusations of Sexual Assault. Christian Peter ring a bell?

Furthermore, from what's circulated, Brown's stupidity on social media in going after the person who has filed the lawsuit was the straw that broke the camel's back. Not the allegations as much..
