The league won't give AB a full year suspension until/unless there is a conviction. So, even if there is a suspension for 2-6 weeks, AB will still be here.

Bill knew the risk he was taking, and also the benefits (including AB not playing against us in the playoffs).

Let's just enjoy as much as Josh can get out of AB for as much as he plays this year and into the first couple of months of next.

it's really not about anything other than what Kraft and Belichick feel about it at this point honestly.

50/50 that the league steps in and takes the burden of action from them, also 50/50 they decide enough is enough

He certainly is guilty of unpaid bills and sending harassing, manipulative texts to one of these women.

Yeah, I could not care less about unpaid bills or farting in doctors' faces or whatever the hell else Klemko threw at the wall hoping something would stick. That was the 'warm gatorade' of this whole thing. Sending these texts, though, is just colossally stupid at the very minimum, and kinda damning really. There's just no upside and no good reason to send them, I dunno how he could have seen it going any other way.

so what it was in his room. Did he forget she was in there when he decided to walk in there with just a small towel?
Because it is a lot different if he walks buck naked into the living room holding a towel over his junk than if he comes out of his bathroom into his own room covering his privates while he gets something and she has her back turned to him because she is paiting a mural in his room.

I can't get too upset about him still being here considering he's not in criminal trouble (yet), and he can't be the first or last Patriot not to respect women.

For now, sure. Yeah he's a moron and a ****head but I've rooted for worse guys. As long as he's not messing with the locker room. Luckily for AB, this isn't a professional "behave like a decent, well-adjusted human being" team, so I've certainly rooted for worse guys.

But yeah, that clause in his contract that revokes his $9M in guarantees, the Pats should be ready to invoke that at a moment's notice. Because given how flat-out stupid he's been throughout this whole process there's a damn good chance that there's more out there that'll guarantee him a trip to the commissioner's exempt list.

So, I didn't bother to read the 100s of posts about the recent text messages, because the numbers overwhelmed the significance by more than I was willing to stomach. I assume that many pearls were clutched, and many fainting couches were used. Now that people have gotten that out of their systems, perhaps we can return to the oh so vital discussions about farting in the doctor's office.

Just because a formal police report/criminal process hasn't been initiated doesn't mean a crime was not committed, nor does it mean Brown's behavior has been entirely ethical and upstanding.

And the whole "innocent until proven guilty" notion applies to a criminal proceeding. The public is, and always has been, free to reach whatever conclusions they please. Likewise, employers are also free to reach whatever conclusions they please and have tremendous leeway to release an employee they no longer want to associate with.

And I can assure that I would also have an unfavorable opinion of anyone who has done the things Brown has, even if they had a fortunate upbringing, and were literate and articulate. In fact, I feel quite bad for Brown because he clearly had a rough childhood and wasn't afforded a meaningful education.

Maybe he didn’t like the way the job was done? You ever thought of that? Also i would be pissed too if my dirty laundry was written in national sports magazine. A story that’s old. Those text messages are nothing. Why is she’s surprised that brown’s coming back at her? Guess you don’t understand his point of view. He wants this woman off his back already.

I care about the unpaid bills because presumably a contractor somewhere is getting stiffed out of money s/he deserves, and that's not okay on principle for several reasons.

But yes, the farting stuff is analogous to the warm gatorade nonsense.

I agree with your analysis of the texting fiasco.

(sigh) But it is in fact what the word means.
A simple 'DOH' would have sufficed but whatever. Having now ventured into the murky waters of going two posts deep in this discussion common knowledge dictates it is time to back away and allow you to declare victory before it becomes...

I heard some exec floated the idea of remaking the Princess Bride. Crazy.

If you don't like the way a job was completed by a contractor then you reach out and explain your perspective, state that you feel you shouldn't have to pay the agreed amount because of the quality of the work, and attempt to resolve the situation.

If it cannot be resolved, then you file a suit. No person of Brown's financial means should have unpaid/unresolved bills from multiple contractors lying around.

When has the league penalized a player more than 6 games (reduced to 4) for even a rape accusation)? Yes, and that was Ben.

The legal and team actions will continue, perhaps after the SB.

That's neither how it works, now how it should work.
