Seed 2 is likely, and it is not really a bad spot this year.

The Pats D just put forth one of the most embarrassing, awful performances of the Belichick era. It’s unreasonable to expect fans to not call it out for being the giant steaming turd that it was on Sunday. The run D was trash, the pass D was abysmal, the coaching and preparation was garbage. Everything was a pile of crap. Any attempt to claim otherwise is an exercise in delusion.

It was by no means good but it also wasn’t even close to how you describe it in the first sentence. I could name at least a dozen games that were a lot worse.

Given the Texans schedule..i don't see them losing again..why I said we need to win out. I don't want o rely on other teams but it could come to that
Well with Minnesota losing last night Philly is very much alive for one of the final NFC wildcards! They'll be ready for war!

This was actually a rare good post by you up until...

Do you not remember some of those performances in 2011? What about 2010 where the immortal Mark Sanchez sat back in the pocket and redirected Edwards with his hand, waited for him to run the right route, and then delivered the pass? I mean, this was a trash bag performance, but I think you're forgetting some of the more trash performances in the past.

The game where the Pats almost blew a 22 point lead in the last 10 minutes to Dan Orlovsky (who threw for 350 yards and completed over 70% of his passes) and the 1-11 Colts or letting Vince Young throw for almost 400 yards was embarrassing. Or getting annihilated by the Jets in the playoffs. Or the entire 2002 season after week 2. There are lots more. This game wasn’t even close to what we saw then.

...and they'll also have fun.

We're all going to YUGE iggles fans Christmas weekend. That's the game that will determine the Patriots seeding. Don't see how anyone can expect the Pats to suddenly discover how to win on the road vs a totally desperate Pittsburgh club...

2 different NE seasons and teams that have nothing to do with each other. Id rather have the 2016 team than this 2018 team.

Every season is exclusive in the ever changing NFL.

You dont like the calls for 50 in Pittsburgh because you fear that the possibility of that becoming true is very real.

I made it clear that I understand past performance does not indicate present success. Keep in mind that Pittsburgh is having problems too.

I wish we could make bets on this page. Nothing serious of course but perhaps a sandwich. (?)

I hope Sony cat quickness comes to fruition. I am sure you have worked hard with him. :D

What makes you think the Pats aren't desperate?

I would rather us controlling our own destiny than the other way around. The #2 seed ain't that bad we still get a Bye and KC is banged up. Also Andy Reed's Teams seems to Choke in the playoffs literally. Win Sunday and the #2 is already in the bag that last game against the Jets could be meaningless Hoyer time.

At THIS moment let s concentrate on us...we need to create a momentum...let s try to get a win next week...that would be enough for the moment

Unfair. Everybody knows you don't stop Dan Orlovsky. You can only hope to contain him. :D

It's weird how losing in Miami in December seems to be cause our semi-annual board "no way this team makes it to the superbowl" meltdown.

You'd think we'd be used to it by now.

I wouldn't call them winning any game on the road likely this year. 3-4 doesn't exactly scream likely.

Well its 42% likely....LOL

Steelers have a much tougher schedule coming with the Pats and then New Orleans, they will be looking ahead,

I agree, although the manner in which they’ve lost to mediocre (at best) teams like DET, TEN, JAX, and MIA is compounding the “usual” December concerns.

Ditto for the struggles on the road, as well as giving up almost 5 YPC on the ground. Not meaning to be overly pessimistic because I still expect an AFC title game appearance, but I think there are some legitimate worries this year that we haven’t seen in about 5 years, if not a bit longer.

We'll win the next 3, get the #2 bye, KC will be one and done and then we'll host Houston in the AFCCG.

Probably a weaker team than 2011, though, which would make this our 3rd weakest SB team if we make it there.

You including ‘96 and ‘85, or just in the Belichick/Brady era?

Considering that Matt Patricia and Dan Pees are at DET and TEN respectively, I am not that caught up that the Pats lost to them because even 'mediocre' teams became superior when they have inside info about our playbook and tendencies.

JAX & MIA - I suspect that both players and coaches are unable to operate @ their usual level of coolness when the weather is above 70. :(
