I'm not "attempting" to tell you anything. I merely am acknowledging that off-season is Jets fans' favorite time of year, the January-July time frame when you can rationalize your way into feeling a false sense of optimism.

And you'd be mostly correct during bad seasons. However, during certain seasons of extra-special suck-i-tude, the offseason can actually begin earlier.

Such as like this season. The season ended in October. Hence the offseason started in October and us Jet fans could begin planning and rationalizing for our false sense of optimism for 2017.

So ha! By sucking so much, us Jet fans have actually benefitted. You guys only wish you were so lucky.

Every thread deserves its own measure of truth. If you've rationalized your way into believing your off-season started in October you must be doubly miserable. Why not do yourself a big favor and declare the entire year off-season? Somewhere, a budding psychoanalyst is searching for you as his doctoral thesis case study.

I would have been happy if they brought him back on a 2 year deal. That's about all I'd feel comfortable guaranteeing a guy like that.

Jets fans have elevated delusional rationalization to an art form. You already have declared the off-season starting two months after training camp, it shouldn't be that much of a stretch for you to go all the way with it. I'll even help with a bit of objective reasoning: You HAD to know deep down, before it began, that this season was a lost cause -- just like the 46 seasons before it and untold seasons to follow. You and legions of fellow Jets fans have amply demonstrated that off-season (happy times) is preferable to in-season (outrage/depression/despair). You've already gotten more than halfway there in 2016. Just resolve to declare ALL of 2017 your off-season and you'll be a much happier individual. Hell, you might even get laid (i.e., lose your virginity to a blind prostitute).

I just looked up EVISCERATION and there you are Tunes, staring back at me with a bloody boning knife in one hand and a bloody Jets cap in the other....BRAVO!
