I can't see why any player would be shocked by this trade. Sad, yes, but the writing was on the wall for months - they haven't practiced with Branch since last season. The comparison to Milloy getting cut last minute is insane.

What's interesting is the Vrabel thinks Branch got the contract he deserves - I wonder if other players agree that the front office made a low offer and thus blame the front office for losing him...don't they realize that being fiscally responsible is the key to the team's ongoing health...
