Will the Patriots miss Asante?

I personally will not miss him. I doubt the Pats will either. Maybe some growing pains in the first 1/4 of the season, but I think we'll be just fine. We did win a S.B. will earthwind moreland afterall

I prefer beer over kool aid, and my comment had nothing to do with dissing him because he's no longer a Patriot. I didnt like him when he was here. Nice Bledsoe comment though

Amen. BB and Pioli will not slash your tires if you say somthing positive about a player who the let go. Did I want to pay him that money? Hell no, but I think they should have locked him up 3 years ago at a reasonable rate. The guy is a stud and the only pats CB who can play man at the LOS.

He will be missed, but I am not sure by how much. You can't judge by the last two preseason games. There was no scheming going on and they were not really blitzing that much. Also, Adalius Thomas didn't play last night and Vrabel barely played the first week. I think this secondary will succeed or fail based on the front seven and the front seven haven't really been at full strength or show all that they are capable of.

I also think there will be a lot of new wrinkles to the defense that Capers has brought to the team which they won't unveil until the regular season. Remember all the new wrinkles to the offense that they didn't unveil until the regular season. We knew Moss would open up the deep game, but no one was expecting it open up like it did.

Asante wasn't bad. at all...will he be missed?? I think all would agree he would be a solid CB here if he had been less greedy. He worked well in the system here...but players come and players go..He wasn't an intregal part of the D..but they have players that can step up and replace him. Will the Eagles feel he's worth all they paid?? Buyers remorse quicker than one thinks..

All Samuel has on his resume is 16 picks the past 2 years, a pro-bowl and two picks for TDs playoff games. Any scrub should be able to do that.

I miss him already! ..................................There now I'm over it. Contrary to what alot of people on here think, I don't believe last night's game will be indicative of what this team will look like. The defense won't be perfect and will always have room to improveD I learned that one from Bill) and may take a few weeks of the regular season to get the bugs out. Barring injuries of course, I believe the D will be very good by the time we meet up with the Colts.

I see it the exact opposite, I think the defense will play well against the poor offenses (KC, Jets, Miami, etc.) and then get shredded by Manning. They may score enough points to win but the defense will have its hands full.
