imagine if this happens. it would be pretty funny as he'd upgrade the vikes and would come back to bite the packers.

Re: Pennington to be released per ESPN- my bet is the Vikes

I should try out for the Vikes, I can hand the ball off to Peterson 50 times a game...

Re: Pennington to be released per ESPN- my bet is the Vikes

Shefter proposed the Chiefs based on Chad's relationship with Herm.

Re: Pennington to be released per ESPN- my bet is the Vikes

Maybe he could sign with the Colts and sure up their QB spot, since the current starter there has a long history of taking the gas-pipe in the playoffs.....

Re: Pennington to be released per ESPN- my bet is the Vikes

I hope he doesn't sign with the Chiefs. That would be quite the fizzle of a story.

I want him to sign with the Dolphins first, if only for the possibility that he beats the Jets in the first game of the season.

My second choice would be the Vikings.

After that I don't care.

Doesn't sound like the Vikings have a lot of faith in Tarvaris Jackson.

Lots of QB needy teams out there...reading some of the news stories out of Baltimore suggest they might be looking for a QB to back of Troy Smith this season. Let's hope the Matt brothers put on an awsome show tonight.

And in week 2, the Jets lose at home and the crowd goes wild.....

The only thing that could be better than this is Favre 7 out of 21, 3 interceptions, 1 fumble and a rating of about 40... as the fans chant bye, bye Mangini...

Pennington's relationship with Herman Edwards is a good point and a possibility for him to go there but he will find a team soon. My guess would be Chiefs first and Vikings second. And the Bears waiting in the wings.

The Bears would be totally irresponsible if they didn't try to get Chad. Vikings and Bears would put a hurting on the Pack. Kind of funny, the stipulation in the trade is that the Jets can't trade him to the Vikings, but still bites them in the ass if it plays out.

Why not here? We do not have a number two QB?
God forbid we have a need for a game or two,. which Matt would you keep or would you would rather have Pennington for a game or two.
Zolak even mentioned it.

Pennington can flourish QB'ing a good running team like the Vikings. The Jets had neither a running or a passing game so he was exposed. I still like Pennington's accuracy and especially his game management skills. Put him on a running team and he can help them ... especially if they just need a QB to throw screens and to the slot WR.

Wait! Zolak!

Nah, forget it!

I'd like to see him on the Bears. I mean, they made it to the super bowl with Rex Grossman. Pennington is roughly 100x better than Grossman.

I would go a long with him holding a clip board with the Pats but he wouldn't take that job. I think Miami gets him.

If I were Chad I'm going to Minnesota and that's it. It shouldn't take him long to overtake Jackson. While he should also have little problem taking over the Bears, Minnesota is a better team, and they play inside. And Chad should realize that his soft arm outside in the winter isn't the best fit. He would be perfect on Minnesota.

My thoughts exactly, I would like to see him go to Chi town...
