The rule changed in 2006. Jimmy Johnson named guys like Mark Hatley (Marty Schottenheimer's scout) and Howard Mudd (now working for Tony Dungy) as being the best in league at signal-stealing. But back then it wasn't illegal.

Per an interview with Goodell posted on ESPN's main page right now "the Spygate proceedings have hit a roadblock. I just don't know where else to turn". Meaning that nothing new came out of this whatsoever. Said he does reserve the right to re-open the case if more evidence presents itself. Cue the next attention starved, greasy faced drag queen who wants his 15 minutes of fame.

Just an unbelievable statement by Schlereth! It just goes to show that the media has zero regard for the facts concerning this story. Every shred of evidence, every statement made by anyone involved in this refutes his conclusion. Not a single person involved in the NFL has ever asserted that these tapes were used in the game. As to his comment about division opponents, at least, in the case of the Steelers the Patriots already knew that they were on the 2002 schedule.

Soon, Schlereth will say that he taped the walkthrough.

This is false. The rule didn't change in 2006. A memo was sent out to emphasize to teams to stop taping from the sidelines and reminding them that there were only specific places that teams could tape from.

According to an email reply I got from Mike Reiss during the SB, the RULE has been in there for ages. Its not new.

What Mike's reply told me, indirectly, was that it was similar to the chuck rule. That the rule about taping from the sidelines has been there for a long time, but its just not been enforced. Just like with the chuck rule where the Officials were lax in calling it.

2.) I don't have to believe everything someone says to use evidence they produce.

3.) Goodell essentially agreed 100% with the Patriots about everything except the interpretation of the rule. Even on that area of disagreement, he pointed out that Belichick was consistent about it.

Now, back under your bridge.

1. Did you not see me call ESPN embarassing? When objectivity comes off to you as trolling, you might wanna look in the mirror.

2. Of course not. And if you believe the things Walsh says that help the Patriots, and don't believe the things that hurt them, I'm sure that's just a coincidence.
