They showed a little clip on him and his training and I thought there is no way this guy will fail in the NFL. He did all of this crazy training. The one thing that still sticks in my head was he would have two guys lift him up horizontally about chest high and then just drop him. He would have to break his fall using his hands.
We need separate forum for stuff like this.Didn't see this posted yet, so wanted to give the obligatory 'should we sign him' post. (No)
Has anybody read about Archuleta's workout regimen? It's some kind of weird "warrior training" where they drop weights on him, he catches the weight, and throws it back to the "dropper." The entire point of it, as I understood, was that the impact training would make an athlete more immune to injury. Hmmm, sure did work for Archie over the past few years, huh?
He's a powerful hitter, but he's basically a linebacker who didn't grow big enough to play backer in the NFL. He's a slow, hard hitting safety who struggles in coverage and doesn't have the closing speed that a comparable, successful safety in this league has. I'd say there are dozens of college linebackers who could move to safety and do exactly what Archuleta does. Don't get me wrong, I like the guy (enough to have read about his training), but he just hasn't panned out.
I do not know about that. We then have the second to worst in James Sanders.Archuleta might be the worst safety in the NFL and has been in the running for that title for some time. He could not cover Gilbert Brown on a pass pattern.
My favorite memory of Adam Archuleta is him slipping and falling for the Rams when Troy Brown ran a slant route and blew right by Him into Rams territory to set Up Adam's kick to launch a Dynasty.

If you want to see a disaster, check JS out. See where everyone of the big pass plays went last year. Watch the tape before you object.
Too bad he didn't have a camera for the "helmet catch". We could have gotten a close up. He had nothing to do anyway.
