It's easy, and only takes a few moments. Can anyone tell me if NESN broadcasts the Patriots game during the season? I am debating whether to add this channel for $12 a month or not, so can you tell me what Patriots "Stuff" is on that channel?
Thanks!
Ive never seen a game a Pats televised on NESN, only highlights
I am a Red Sox fan too so I might consider getting the channel anyway. I wish they had an all Patriots channel, now that would be cool!
Is NESN the channel Mike Reiss has a spot on a sports show on, or is that FSNE? I used to have both on DirecTV but can't remember which is which.
Yes, great if you're a Red Sox fan. I live in Texas, but have Direct TV and am watching a Red Sox game right now; I thought they (Direct TV) would block out the games, but they don't.
Best thing about NESN is NESN HD. Sox games in HD are incredible, Fenway, speachless. Now if only the Patriots could follow suit and have their own channel in HD we wouldnt have to watch the crappy national coverage.
DirecTv is not blacking out the games because this week is a free preview of MLB Extra Innings. If you have that package, the games are available on the MLB EI channels AND the local channels. Once that free preview is up, sometime this weekend, you will no longer see the games on NESN.
As for the OP, only the CBS and Fox affiliates may broadcast games locally (aside from the cable tv games). Local channels cannot rebroadcast full NFL games, only NFL Network may do that.
NESN has a contract with the Globe which means it will get their football writers on its talk shows during football season and draft time. Other than that, the station is primarily Sox and Bruins as they have the broadcast rights to each of those teams. The only Pats coverage you will see on NESN is the occasional feature or highlight package on SportsDesk or discussion during one of their PTI-type shows.
Both Mike Reiss and Chris Gasper will appear occasionally with Bob Ryan on NESN. I think the station that used to be known as FSNE with Felger is now Comcast.
Best thing about NESN is NESN HD.
