if you consider what patriots did in 07 and we didn't win SB, it's disappointing. It is time for no excuse. With all spent money on talented players, i expect this team to deliver the good in 08.

imagine what would happen if we didnt make the playoffs. Also take into fact-this yr is the most injury free we have been.The colts had so many injuries this and all they talked about in the media was about that. Last 2 yrs before this we had so many of them and still were in the hunt for the SB in the end.

Only in Boston can a coach transform a historically losing franchise into one that, in the last 7 years:
Won more games than any team ever in any 7 years, more playoff games than any team ever, in any 7 years, as many Conf Champs as any team ever in any 7 years, and 1 less SB than any team ever in any 7 years (with only 1 team ever exceeding it)

Injury free?

We lost one of our best pass rushers halfway through the season. We lost our power running back after 5 games. The second half of the season, we had either 1 or 0 true TEs. The right side of our offensive line was in and out after week 12. Richard Seymour was on PUP for the first 8 weeks and wasn't full strength until possibly the playoffs. Rodney wasn't injured but he still wasn't available for 4.

The media doesn't talk about it, but we had plenty of key injuries that could have hobbled us at times. Just because other teams spend too much money on certain players and have no depth because of it doesn't make their effort more valiant than ours.

And for my level of expectation, its called maturity. THere are people out there that realize that winning a Super Bowl is hard work, and takes a lot of effort, skill, and yes, even luck.

And then there are those who don't and go into the corner and cry away about how their team "sucks" at every turn.

These are the people that I wonder how they deal with real life. If you get stopped at a red light, do you pout about it? If you don't get that big promotion, do you quit the company? If it rains on the day of the big party you've planned, do you spend the day yelling at all your friends telling them that your expectations were just too high and that the day didn't meet them.

There is nothing wrong with having high expectations. However, you need to overlay...REAL LIFE.

Under normal circumstances, in a season that lasts 6 months, you can really only get a team "up" 3, 4, maybe 5 times a season, if you're really good. That fact that the Patriots played at such a high level for so long is a great, great testament not only to the team, but the head coach himself.

Why, in a million years, would the Patriots let go of a coach like this????

Who cares, they lost, the Giants won, fair and square. There's no conspiracy here, it's just football.

There's no way Belichick leaves, he loves to coach and the way he handled the pressure this year, nothing will break this man. The only way he leaves is if Kraft asks him too, never goona happen unless Walsh comes up with something real and huge. I honestly feel that it will die, but then again I thought the Pats would win the SB.

The Patriot SB 42 loss was epic on so many levels. Bill's future or non future should be considered by ownership. Sometimes 1 screw up can in fact wipe out past accomplishments.

Bill Belichick might be the best coach all time in the NFL. Having

said this; however, I believe that the distractions are beginning

to pile up. The Pats at the present time are the most reviled team

since the days of The Black Sox. Frivolous lawsuits and goverment

investigations are coming out of the woodwork. None of this would

have happened if BB had not ignored Roger Goodell's memo at the

beginning of the season not to videotape. At lot of the flak is probably

directed at BB who is disliked by the media and out of town fans for

his brusque manner. If Bob Kraft reaches the point when he thinks the

Is there a point at which Bill Belichick would/should step down as the head coach of the Patriots? I think the Patriot's brand/image has been severely tarnished this year and I do not see Spygate going away anytime soon.

Even Rumsfeld and Gonzalez eventually stepped down for their team/party.

IF BB was ever forced by Kraft to resign as HC of the NEP then the haters would have won. If, at this point, this has become as personal for Kraft, BB, and the Pats as it is for most of us fans--there's no way in hell he's stepping aside.

Patriot Nation to arms!! You may be weary and tired of defending your team and want it all to go away, but our resolve must be to stand with our coach until he is vindicated.
