It's time to get over it!

I've found I struggle to forget certain things until I get chance to rectify them, but thats just my competative nature. This loss will probrably still annoy me until we win another championship and shut people up. Right now we've lost, we need to regroup and come back strong next season and only till I've witnessed we've achieved that will I settle.

I don't think this loss would bother me so much if it didn't seem that the media and Alan Spector plotted & carried out a plan to derail the Patriots. All that BS in the 3 days leading to the SB was surreal, unfair and appeared to me to be illegal. I say illegal because it seemed to me to be purposeful and that has left a very bad taste in this Patriots fan's mouth.

Get over it? I don't think so!

They are a great team with great coaches and players. They have accomplished much. This year, however, they blew a once in a lifetime opportunity and grabbed a piece of infamy. Just as they will always have their accomplishments, they will always have this colossal failure. Time may lessen the wound, but it will never heal.

I actually had a dream last night where Brady was getting hammered by the Giants pass rush and gave up a fumble. Argh.

.. I'm shocked to see that people are actually HAPPY that Harrison is coming back... .
you keep implying that Harrison played bad this year.

where are you getting this from?

do you even watch the games?

Say more about illegal....interesting..

If we go 19-0 and beat the Giants in SB 43 51-0 then I'll get over it. Our team definitely has retooling to do. I actually expect tough times in 2008. The Giants gave the road map to stop the Pats. Just like we did to the 2001 Rams after SB 36.

Things to address in 2008; upgrade assistant coaches, replace old LBs, shore up OL, add better TEs, add running game and end Maroney experiment, add kicker you can trust and start eating humble pie daily.

Dropkick Flutie is a Bills fan. That should lend some insight into most of his posts here, most of which are backhanded compliments or outright trolls.

"Add kicker you can trust" . . . I'll believe that when I see it.

I was over it the next day. Sure it still hurt inside, but it didn't change my life at all. And when I thought about it, if they won, it still would not have changed my life at all. You see, I am just a fan. I am not a player. It did not effect my pay. It did not effect my reputation.
It only broke my heart.

I'll be back in front of the tv next season, rooting for them again. I did when they were the worst in the league, and I will do it again when they take the field next year. Even the best of teams will lose eventually. Look at the Colts :D

Now by the end of the regular season, do you mean the last 6 games (6-0) the last 5 games (5-0) or the last 4 games? (4-0)

I think he means the ones where your offense had to keep up with the amazing arms of AJ Feeley and Kyle Boller - how are those games not embarrassing to Pats fans?

That might actually be the best part of the season for me:

So many people rooting for other teams, like the above poster, spent an incredible amount of time before Patriots games telling us that it was "our time to lose", and "how team X is going to be able to do it because of Y".

Then after the game, they make fun of us for 'almost' not winning.

Is it legal if people in the media conspired to rain rumors upon the Patriots in an effort to hurt their chances at winning the SB? And Spector? That SOB, loser and sad excuse of a US senator? Someone should investigate that man's motives...(i.e., see shmessy)

I can't get on board with the "media hurt the Patriots" stuff. Maybe it's true, but it's most likely not, and using it as an excuse is worthless.

On the other hand, I can definitely agree with the "media hurt the Patriots fans" sentiment.

That is not even up for debate.

Hm, please tell me when I made fun of you for " 'almost' not winning"? I was pointing out that while some people on here think the defense is still great, it's fairly evident to others that it's not in the best shape.

How is this illegal? Considering Specter sent a letter to Goodell over a month before, but was never answered? Maybe you should blame Goodell for not writing him back. And seriously...do you really think Specter made the Patriots lose? That's foolish, if so.

You can call it what you want.

But, I call a fan of another team suggesting that we Patriots fans should be embarrassed for our team after they win a game, insulting.

It also reeks of jealousy.

OK, maybe I shouldn't have gone that far. I apologize for calling it embarrassing. But I can tell you right now - it's not jealousy. There is no way, even if the Pats had gone 19-0, that I would want to be a Pats fan.

Funny how there's Pats fans who go onto my team's boards and when they say anything derogatory about the team that I root for, it's just "reality" and "speaking the truth," but when anyone does it about the Patriots, it's "jealousy." I'm sorry to call it embarrassing, but when your defense makes Boller and Feeley look as good as Tom Brady, the defense needs a little work. It's not that hard to admit.

No offense, but sinking to the "crappy Patriots fans'" level makes you just as pathetic as them for trolling our board. I don't have the time to waste on another team's forums, and I would be embarrassed to admit that I did.

Furthermore. our 'crappy' defense held the Colts to 20 points, the Chargers to 12 and 14, the Jaguars to 21, and the Giants to 17.

Make fun of them all you want, but there are a lot of teams in the league that would trade their defense for ours in a heartbeat, so don't be surprised when you're laughed at for suggesting otherwise. Are they perfect? No, but what team is (besides the Dolphins  ).

Nice to see you can accept an apology so gracefully. And don't use quotes since I never said "crappy Patriots fans;" I was simply pointing out the double standard. Yes, it's so much better for you to waste time on this forum than to waste time on other team's forums.

Attack me all you want, but the statistics are there that the Pats defense let down towards the end of the season. This started because I was responding to the arrogance that was stating "by the end of the season do you mean when we went 6-0, 5-0 or 4-0?" Just because you can win doesn't mean you have a great defense. It's foolish to just sit there and say "we had a perfect regular season, so that trumps any argument you try to make."

The Giants scored more points on the vaunted Green Bay secondary in -30 wind chill than they did on the Patriots defense in perfect weather on a fast track in the Super Bowl.

Your argument holds no water. Mostly because you've been handed a sieve by ESPN to hold it in.

This thread was not intended fro trolls to come in and start food fights. If you are a fan of another team, you have nothing to get over except the infractions that will come if you continueto hijack threads that have nothing to do with your team.
