In other news, the Jets released Bailey Zappe, but he reverted to their practice squad. Saw a brutal preseason game from him where he threw multiple picks, including a pick-six. Not a good preseason for him.

It will be interesting to see how he handles being on the practice squad. The guy was reportedly shipped out of here because he thought he was better than Drake Maye and felt he deserved a shot to win the starting role.

Even though he had a strong pre-season there's inclinations that he wasn't "focused on the right things" in Dallas. Some have said he asked for his release to catch on with a QB needy team too - but while he hasn't signed anywhere yet he's probably a Week 2 pickup so his contract isn't guaranteed.

It's still roughly a million a year - no need to commit that to a 3rd string guy for an entire season when they can just pay him for the weeks he's on the roster. Given that he hasn't been picked up yet they may think he'll make it through to PS.
