And conversely, they might all be gone. I don't think they're better than the DBs they have on the roster by any means, I'd be fine with that.

I think they they will work it is the guys who have had 2 shots, like Dippre ( e.g..) will be gone if released, and the ones they like the most that were in their first stint with the team will be asked to join the PS.

No, he is not a receiver. He is 5'9" and 209. Thats a bowling ball. He is meant to chew yards in the 4th and go under the DL to get tough yards.

I saw Kiner had 5 catches for 28 yards in three preseason games. Surely not a James White but maybe good enough in a pinch.

Not certain we want to anoint V/S/C as great drafters. For now, I will consider them average. Win some lose some, with the potential for losing more.

Disagree completely, they have rebuilt the roster in 2 offseasons with many successful picks, especially when compared to Belichick's track record.

2024 was NOT under Bill's Guidelines. They were under WOLF'S. In fact. We KNOW that WOLF was the one running the show for personnel. Wolf was using HIS guidelines and transferring it to Bill's. It's not that hard to do. It's not thermodynamics or actual rocket science.

Wolf's drafts have been hot garbage until Vrabel/Streicher/Cowden came in and set him straight.

Wolf only had one draft prior to Vrabel, and other than Maye it was definitely horrible.

If they don't get claimed on waivers, he, Dixon, and Dorner are all strong PS candidates.

66.7 % catch rate lines right up with NE WRs. RBs, TEs and 0 fumbles.

Kiner was very productive rushing at Cincinnati too.

I wouldn't say "goodbye" to anyone just yet, there's a strong possibility many of these guys end up on the practice squad and some eventually contribute to this team in 2026.

Pettus is an excellent STer, so much so that I considered him an OK roster play as an STO and perhaps #4 safety. Last year, for most of the year, Pettus was OK as the only backup at safety, the #3 safety.

Pettus is someone who has been a good performer for us. I don't see enough in Sauders to switch, especially since we have 4 other safeties (including Schooler).

As a general point I’m thinking that STO is a decisive advantage over players who do not play special teams, like Boutte, but I’m not sure how big a difference it makes between two players who both play STs, for example Pettus and Reed. I think Reed is a lock because of the trade, so that’s for example only not because I think they are competing for a roster spot.

I’ve not paid attention to Saunders on STs but as a safety possibly on the roster bubble I’d expect he is more than willing to play STs. Question is whether either one is enough better at it for it to make a difference.

Agree, I think Vrabel likes 0 fumbles, hard to bring down, and ST value. Probably limited carries in any game.

Not a traditional Pats 3rd down back, but maybe?
