The difference is that White could only bull rush.. Jacas can beat you with Speed or Inside moves as well. He's not a one trick pony.

Different size players really and for different defenses. The problem with Keion was not his lack of speed, but his inability to bull rush, the thing he was brought in for.

Helps if you address that to the person who actually made the comment, Upstarter. I mentioned nothing about their sizes. I focused on their abilities.

There have been multiple reports through camp of a disproportionate amount of slipping . Surely it hasn’t been wet every day?

Agreed. Wish we brought in Clowney while he was still available... he was still reasonably productive last year.

I knew it was wet yesterday, I haven't heard anything about the practice field prior, thus my question.

Edge remains the Achilles heel of the Patriots. I have a lot of hopes for Jacas and I think hes going to be a very good player. But hes still a rookie. We needed Landry.
Jones is decent but not a big time pass rusher. Just hope Landry can get back at some point this season and be productive.

I've been screaming lack of optimism on Landry since before last season ended. I never expected him to be a factor this season at all. I'd have not even included him on any roster predictions except Vrabel is so in love with him for some reason. So, he'll be on some sort of PUP or IR or NFI list, but he won't be on the field. Time for everyone to move on. Ponder, Jacas, Swinson need to step up.

But I agree, still very shaky. And if Landry can't come back and contribute at any point,then edge us a major weakness.
The offense might be the best in the NFL.
They'll have to be. Even then, going up against a team like the Rams, the lack of a pass rush could smell doom.
But I do think Barmire and Williams can step and provide a good interior pass rush. Problem is, vs. a very good team, if your passrush is one-dimensional ( only inside or outside but not both), it can be neutralized.

Of course I'm pissed that Wolf & Co. keep getting completely fleeced in plus-leverage personnel situations.
We didn't have to trade Boutte now, we had the cards...

Moving on. Couldn't find any highlights of Reed with the Texans, but his Penn St. tape showed a very physical run stopper, willing tackler, aggressive pursuer and looks alike a penchant for the big hit. I really don't want to lose Saunders, so I'd say Reed will unseat Pettus - at least kick him to the PS.

Yes, we have our 3 safeties plus Schooler, who might start on NFI).

I don't know whether we'll carry a 4th.

I don't know that 4th would be. Pettus is the incumbent and has done well for us. I'm not sure that Saunders or Brown has shown Vrabel enough to put him on the 53, with almost all the reps on ST's as befits a #4 safety.

How much we have changed. Last year, we thought that we had a top Defense and needed to improve a horrible Offense.

OFFENSE
Now our top Offense has no real weaknesses except the inexperience of youth. And sure, we still need to have 2027 upgrades on the OL.

DEFENSE
If everyone all the starters stay healthy and Ponder or Jacas step up, we will have a very good Defense with very weak backups in the defensive front seven (really front 6). Of course, we would also be improved if one of the ILB's stepped up, perhaps Britt.

I read Giardi snd Bedards daily reports as well as watch several of the other daily pod recaps. It’s come up regularly across platforms and hosts. Very odd IMO to pay hundreds of millions for athletes only to put them on a practice surface that may be inferior and cause injuries.

Krafts are not alone, and Texans actual field was notoriously bad for years, but it defies business logic.
