PATRIOTS TRAINING CAMP 2026 Patriots Training Camp - Day 11

No Woz I don't live in dream land: you can tell from the tweets that KW will not make that vaunted Second year jump for Patriots Receivers. I really hope one of those UDFA's vaults him: we might have another wasted Third Rounder on the books.
He’s caught like 3-4 TD’s… what are you smoking?

Guard depth is concerning. I had hopes that they could slide Lomu, if needed, but he's struggling at tackle so much that they aren't even flipping him to left.
Too early to tell, we’ll know more by preseason and joint practices. Guys that are struggling today will turn a corner.
Chism is running with the 1's.

I know different roles, but if Williams is doing well he wouldn't see the 3's.
Nah, Chism has only Douglas in front of him.

Williams has everyone else, and he’s the youngest most inexperienced. He only has to produce with the reps he’s given and seemingly has.

I kind of thought that Pats would bring in some competition for Baringer who sucked last year….cant have any more of those 35 yarders this season

I wouldn't even call him good, really... But he's better than Rupcich as far as veteran Guards are concerned, so there's that.

If we're looking at 36-year-old Guards, then what's Kevin Zeitler up-to these days? Infinity times better player.

And 28-year-old former Doofin James Daniels has decent experience at both Guard and Center... Just sayin'.

You don't mess with the Zoltar... or is it Zoltan?

He does well athletically, but there is something wrong that doesn't seem to still be corrected in his second year.

Just from yesterday's Bedard report:

"There was an all-out blitz against DeVito, who floated a pass to the right corner of the end zone in the direction of Williams against Minor. Williams thought it was going to be over his shoulder ... it bounced behind him."

Just one play, but consistently since last season there's something off.

All world speed is useless if you don't know where to go. I really like KW Pre Draft was hoping he would make that jump. The Patriots and developing WR's are not synonymous.

LT Marcus Bryant repping with the ones is great news for our Offensive Tackle depth.

I don't think development enters into this. For one thing it's a new regime, so that take is unfair.

The player has to get it.

KW had limited opportunities last year.
Maybe he never gets, but way too early for me to make any grand proclamations on what he will/won’t be.
Plenty of WRs take time to develop.
Let’s not throw KW out with garbage quite yet.

Brown is our backup OC. I don't see an issues with him in that role.
The only issue with this is nobody keeps strictly a backup center. They have to backup all 3 interior positions. That was the intention when they resigned him. If he is unable to backup the guard spots, he could be in jeopardy. Would be surprised if he does not make the team, but backing up center only is not a path to making the team.

KW playing with DeVito is a good sign he's playing with two's and not three's. He needs to show up in the scrimmages and Preseason games.

I'm not.

I'm just commenting on what I saw last year, and the lack of improvement reported this year.

The second year is huge for a player. We're seeing the evidence of a second year leap from Marcus Bryant, Ponder, Wilson, certainly Campbell. maybe Swinson, even Chism, but one of the least impactful rookies, Kyle Williams seems in the same place. Yes it's early, but these trends mostly hold. With the competition at WR he shouldn't be making the mistakes I'm hearing. There is the third year player syndrome with WR's, so that's why I think they should give him another year, but it becomes hope, more than evidence.

They did with Wallace last year. Look how that's turning out.

I actually wasn’t referring to you Fam, just spring boarding off your post.

I strongly disagree. Brown being the backup center and emergency backup guard is fine. We also need a better backup OG.

I think that we keep a player whose primary function is backup center almost every year.

We try to have a 3rd, emergency center also.

I think that we should always keep 5 IOL's, 3 of which can player center. Yes, an alternative to a 3rd center on the roster is to have a couple on the PS.

I didn't understand our 2025 choice of have Wallace on the roster to do absolutely nothing.
