I liked what I saw of him in college, although I’m sure you watched him way more than I did. I was very surprised he did almost nothing here.
And Wolf was the guy brought on to "collaborate."Polk pick and really that entire draft was AWFUL.
Like, catastrophic.
Only Maye redeems it and anyone would have made that pick.
This is why I laugh when people try to tell me Wolf and not Vrabel makes the picks.
Just waiting on Wallace to get cut so we can cleanse the facility with Sage.
I think he’s an “implementer”. Meaning, someone else sets vision and parameters, he executes well. You need those people. You just don’t give them full autonomy. And Wolf was the guy brought on to "collaborate."
Who would that have been? This was the year that Mayo was the HC. That's when Drake Maye started. I don't think there was anyone else making the ultimate decisions on player personnel that year. There was Groh, but I always thought he was a pro personnel guy.I think he’s an “implementer”. Meaning, someone else sets vision and parameters, he executes well. You need those people. It was the ghost of BB and his old drafting standards steering Wolf the wrong way.Who would that have been? This was the year that Mayo was the HC. That's when Drake Maye started. That’s my point. Wolfe likely ran the show that year because Mayo was clueless. Vrabel comes in, sets vision of players they want, drafts improve.Who would that have been? I certainly hope so. They look to have improved. It's early though. That’s my point. Wolfe likely ran the show that year because Mayo was clueless. Vrabel comes in, sets vision of players they want, drafts improve.
All fair and I agree. What I’ll say though is that the 24 draft, you knew none of those players would stick almost immediately.I certainly hope so. They look to have improved. It's early though.
The futures of the following players are yet to be written: Will Campbell, Kyle Williams, Jared Wilson, Treveyon Henderson.
All 4 could eventually become Pro Bowlers. All 4 could eventually become busts. In the cases of Williams, Treveyon and Campbell, these guys went in the top 70. You MUST hit on these players.
I am hopeful, but I'd be lying if I told you I was confident. All 4 of these guys showed some warts last year.
If I had to guess, Will Campbell will be the big success and the others will struggle more.
Wolf followed Bill’s system in 2024 to a tee, that why he failed, Except for Drake. Bill wouldn’t have taken Drake Maye… do we have the BB haters club position correct on this?It was the ghost of BB and his old drafting standards steering Wolf the wrong way.
Dear Lord. Imagine a world where Bill stayed, traded back, and took a random guard at #14 or something because “I can find a QB in the 5th”. Personnel side of the game passed him by years ago. Look at UNC right now. Disaster.Wolf followed Bill’s system in 2024 to a tee, that why he failed, Except for Drake. We get it, eveything Wolf did poorly in 2024 was Bill’s system…. except the one thing that went right in Drake Maye. Sounds legit.Dear Lord. Look at UNC right now. Disaster.
