The "College Sports Commission" created by Congress in 2025 is already on the trail of Bill Belichick and Mike Lombardi who was put on administrative leave yesterday. I thought in today's college sports it is nearly impossible to do anything wrong with NIL money. I take that back. I thought there isn't a way to abuse using NIL money that everyone won't look the other way.

Considering there are no rules in today's wild west of NIL, I am very interested in what they are accused of doing. It is not like there is a salary cap, or even individual player limits, you need to circumvent.

Maybe the University is trying to save themselves some money by stabbing him in the back.

I mean, this is a joke. NIL is a joke. There is no way you can possibly run afoul of it, and that commission has already been gelded

Lombardi sounds like he is delusional. He wouldn't let Patriots scout UNC players.... and then none of them got drafted. Yeah, sounds like the rest of the league was just beating down the doors for all that talent, big man.

Banning Patriots' access wasn't just self-defeating in what should have been their efforts to get SOMEONE drafted from the team

It was also probably unconstitutional and at the very least misuse of their state-paid positions, but just for the overall impact to future UNC players hoping to be drafted, I had a feeling that episode might not go away

Maybe that and the potential for misuse of NIL funds (and who knows how the "HR" component may fit into this) seems like the NCAA has a lot to look at

This is a big nothing.

The Commission has gone after dozens of big programs and they've always gotten egg on their face. In fact, their enforcement wing has been sued and lost countless times already.

It's the wild west for college football right now.
