Patriots Injury News TE Julian Hill placed on IR (Vrabel confirms he's lost for 2026)

Need to check in with the Rams TEs. They’re likely not gonna be able to keep all of them:
Tyler Higbee
Terrance Ferguson
Colby Parkinson
Max Klare
Davis Allen
Dan Villari
Villari isn’t a great blocker, but a very intriguing pass catcher

Yep I posted that somewhere: the Rams are loaded @ TE. We can't go in with can't Block H Henry and Eli Raridon alone: I really wanted us to Double dip there. Tanner Koziol and Joe Royer went right before CB Karon Prunty *shrugs*. You Prunty better become a serviceable player to justify that selection: not going to lie I preferred others at the time.

H Henry Pt.II.
Nothing wrong with a pass catching TE if used properly.
If Villari could be a younger/cheaper Henry I would have no complaints.

Ironically being on the practice squad as a rookie does equal a high percentage Patriots fail.

The best I can come up with from players who stayed in our organization (that's all that counts, right) are Brandon King and Jacobi Johnson.

Nice pieces, but that's it over the last 20 years.

I know there were players long ago like Troy.

Myles Bryant, Adam Butler, Pharms, Jacobi Meyers, Mal Butler, Devlin, Ben Jarvis, Bolden....all spent time on the PS before "graduating"

Adam Butler, Jacobi Meyers, M. Butler, Brandon Bolden never spent time on the practice squad as a rookie. Develin was not here as a rookie.

BJGE is probably the best player. Myles Bryant is another example. Pharms we'll see. He's been around a while.

So that's 4-5 players in 20 years with no real long term players except BJGE and King? Both were just pieces.

Not a high success rate.

I think there's more to Lampe: the Defense can't cover everybody. I think FB Brock Lampe will be one of our better Blockers who can catch some. Gilliam offer nothing in the passing game too one dimensional.
Just because Gilliam wasn't used in the passing game by Buffalo (they've had fantastic TEs and good pass-catching RBs) doesn't mean he can't catch the ball. He'll never be mistaken for Larry Centers, but Gilliam is 16 of 20 in his career. That's 80% since I know you're mathematically challenged.

We have no idea what the Pats have in Lampe. Whether he can be used as a TE3/FB type player or not. Training camp will show us that.

Just now went back and read the thread and saw where you posted about Rams TEs

Wonder if they’ll look to trade Higbee, and “Redshirt” one of the rookies.

When was Malcolm Butler on the PS?

When was Jacobi Meyers on the PS?

When was Adam Butler on the PS?

Correct. James Develin spent 1.5 years with Cincy before being waived and then signed by the Pats.

Other players that spent time on the Pats PS (though not as rookies) and "graduated" would include:
Kyle Arrington, Billy Yates, Russ Hochstein, Brandon Gorin, Steven Neal, Tom Ashworth

We've not had a lot of success since the early years of the Pats Dynasty.

They kept 4 last year. But Higbee spent a lot of time injured last year.

I've seen Parkinson's name floated around, but he was their best receiver with Higbee out. I wouldn't be surprised of it was Allen or Ferguson that's on the outside looking in. Villari is likely bound for their PS.
