Celtics 2025-2026 Discussion

can't believe I'm saying this, but I think I'd prefer to keep Brown over Tatum now ... if there is a split.
Rename the team, the Boston Browns, otherwise he's unimpressed.

The NBA has really screwed up. They've allowed certain players and teams to hack away and flop all over place and it has led to this: The Thunder’s dirty tricks beat Spurs in Game 2, but it didn’t look anything like basketball

The Thunder finished with the NBA’s No. 1 defense each of the last two years in large part because they have great defensive personnel, but also because they correctly assume the refs can’t call a foul on every play.
If you've watched a lot of NBA games this year, you knew this was coming too.

How is this not a foul... and a technical foul?

I'm almost glad the Celtics got eliminated early from these sham playoffs. I don't need to see them play the anointed champions, the Thunder.

It’s annoying to watch the Thunder. That said Sam Presti is really on another level. That roster is so well constructed and so many complementary pieces. I don’t remember seeing a basketball team with that much depth and chemistry. Sure there have been much better teams when you go by their top three players or by starting lineup but everyone on that bench just balls out.

These odds lead me to believe there’s something going on. Maybe Giannis. Roster as it stands today would not be that high.

OKC and SA both have what Milwaukee would desire in a trade. I think they are the favorites for that very reason. The C's would have the best player in the trade going out so that's why they are not far behind. Should be an interesting offseason. Time for PBS to earn his paycheck and cement legend status if he can win next year or two.

PBS is autocorrect? President of Basketball Operations, PBO? Brad Stevens, BKS?

It used to be CBS (Coach Brad Stevens) now it's PBS (President Brad Stevens). Picked this up some time ago from another forum, but they banned me. No warning. Commies.

Thanks. I am glad they banned you. It is nice having you here

These aren’t trade odds. They’re championship odds for next year.

Now, I have to say that I was not calling for Jaylen Brown to be MVP. Sure, he was definitely the Celtics MVP and that alone could be used to advocate for him to be recognized for putting the team on his back and taking them to the #2 seed in the East,

But All NBA 2nd team? WTF?!?!

And is everyone seeing SGA getting away with the same chicken wing push-off that Brown got called for about 8 times in 7 playoff games? This game is nuts.

After I gave up my Celtics season tickets in 1996, I stopped watching the NBA for a long time. It might be time to go back to that.

Haha for some reason I thought they were odds to land Giannis. I need to pay attention more. Thanks for not calling me out for being a dummy.

Idk....I don't have an issue with anyone they put above him to be honest. I think he finished 6th which seems fair to me. Also, brown has like the most obvious push offs in the league. He doesn't even try to hide it.

I would take Brown over Cade Cunningham every time. He scored more, rebounded better and even though the metrics say otherwise, defended better. I say the last part because Brown was often put on the opposing teams top scorer and I didn't see Cunningham taking on that role.

Let me ask you this - Would you take Cunningham straight up for Brown? I would not make that trade.

If you look at the voting, he finished way higher than anyone else on the second team and was fairly close to Cade Cunningham for the final first team spot.

I would, mostly because of age ... but your point is taken that it is very close.

I watched the first half of that spurs-thunder abomination. What ugly basketball. Any whisper of "all-time great" teams must be met with force and silenced quickly.

Now, get off my lawn!

EDIT: I'm including the Spurs in that. They are nothing special either even with the uber-talented Wemby ... the rest are pretty meh.

Eh screw all that. Take the free throw merchant off that team and they are next to nothing. Actually take the free throw merchant change his birthplace to Topeka, Kansas and see how the NBA treats him.

I have zero respect for Presti. He is wholly made on his Canadian free throw merchant.

Now I think I have to root for OKC just because I think the Knicks would have a decent shot against the Spurs
