Teams worst moments since 2000

Bears - Ditka not giving Walter Peyton the TD run in the Super Bowl instead letting lard ass Fridge Perry roll in.

My 2 worst moments for the Pats this century were the superbowl loss in 2007 and the playoff loss to the Jets in 2010 after rolling them just a few weeks before in the butt fumble game

Deflategate and Spygate don't bother me much since they have all be PROVEN to be BS charges, as so I choose to treat them as such

Not bad vs when your worst moment is losing the Super Bowl to go 18-1

JETE's Winslow getting caught jerking it in a car in a Target parking lot has to be one of the better ones...Kellen says "Hold my..."...

Hernandez was accused of jerking it in team meetings.

I wish I could have interviewed him...

I don’t see how it could be anything other than the Hernandez murder. I can’t even imagine how much mental damage that did to people in the building who worked with him everyday.

Hard to argue against ours. Some of these though? no way.

Dee Ford is absolutely not the Chiefs worst moment since 2000 it was Brady handing Mahomes his ass in SB55 in Tampa. For the Raiders it wasnt the tuck rule it was the Bucs intercepting Gannon 900 times in a SB rout and the franchise has never been the same since. The Jets lowest point was Rodgers injury? Cmon there’s a reason why we still talk about the Butt Fumble lol. Dolphins worst moment is Bullygate? I guess whoever made this list forgot about 62-7.

As painful as it is to relive the Magic Helmet Catch, the Pats can take some satisfaction that they are the cause of FOUR other teams' worst moments:
  • Atlanta's 28-3 in LI
  • Raiders' Tuck Game
  • The Greatest Show on Turf in XXXVI
  • Malcolm Butler's INT in XLIX for Seattle.
(And, PS, I agree that the Butt Fumble was a worse moment for the Jetes than Rodgers' Achilles, so you could make that five.)

Probably homer grief or recency bias, but Mayo's first few press opportunities were spectacularly bad (and he maintained that dismal standard for the entire season to follow). I don't remember a hire in any sport that was so immediately and obviously a dismal failure.

On a more somber note, Darryl Stingley's injury was probably the worst. Losses and missteps come and go, but some damage is permanent.

Hardly. They won the game 46-10.

hernandez is a tragedy... but i am looking at this as team related... AH i consider off field

losing the perfect season sucked, but the other guys get paid, the refs get paid off... cest la vie...

the worst thing this team has had to navigate is the schism between brady/belickick...

it blew apart a once united fandom into pieces, and its echos are still felt to this day

It's like, Tastes Great/Less Filling, or You Got Peanut Butter In My Chocolate! etc.

The three primary individuals responsible for our dynasty, Bob, Bill & Tom, are human and thus not perfect.

To me, all three have so many wonderful personal qualities which more than make up for some relatively small imperfections in judgement or awareness, which themselves can be put in context and perspective given the insane amount of attention brought upon all three due to our success.

Bottom line is:

We had so...much...fun over such a long time due to these three guys. We should love them all unconditionally.

I know it's counterintuitive, but the very same factors and behavior on the part of ownership and management which drove Tom away are the very same which brought him here and gave him a chance in the first place. We're so lucky to have that sixth title, because the writing was already on the wall at that time.

Well said APF... It's why I look at it as a tragedy... The effects of the break up are still felt to this day
