PATRIOTS NEWS 2026 Pats schedule leaks

Breaking New England Patriots Team News
Why? By that time, the Pats will have played in 4 "Prime Time" games. (2 Thursday, 1 Sunday Night, 1 Monday Night). If you include the game in Germany, that is 5. That's the max allowable currently.

The league sent a message this year that they would rather keep everyone in suspense in the last 2 weeks for play-off seeding by having teams vying for play-off spots all playing at the same time.
They aren’t going to select meaningless games for those final Saturdays. Like last year, they’ll find a game or two with playoff ramifications.

Both the NFC South and NFC West were decided that final Saturday.

I thought it was 6, but apparently the Rams are currently scheduled for seven.

No. The Rams do not have 7 prime time games. You're erroneously counting Christmas.

Thanksgiving isn't considered "Prime Time" either. I don't believe that Wednesday and Saturday games are considered "Prime Time", though I could be wrong on that.

Not me, FWIW. In any case, I freely admit that I don't know what the current rules are; the last time I saw an official publication was a PDF of the NFL's by-laws from 20 years ago, when it was essentially just Sun/Mon night. At that point it was 5 per team, with up to three teams a season allowed to have 6, and the game being "standalone" (i.e. ones with no competition) was the critical factor.

Rough sledding this year boys.. gonna be a bloodbath...

Always amazes me how the NFL keeps us interested all year long, between the season, post season, combine, draft, rookie camp, OTA's, schedule release, training camp and pre season.
One of the many reasons why the NFL is so popular.

i see they gave us chiefs and broncos late to give mahomes and nix extra time.
you’re joking, right?

They play weeks 1 and 8. Now both QBs should be back by week 8 but we’ll 1 is up in the air.

Not predicting this, but just as a frame of reference, I have the most pessimistic outcome at 8-9. This is basically us losing every game that isn't against a team we should be favored against with the exception of predicting a split against BUF because even if you subscribe the idea that they're much better than us, it's still hard to win 2 games against a competent division opponent.

Again, this isn't a prediction. This is just meant to establish a pretty pessimistic baseline. Last year they did a great job of staying focused and winning all the games they should. Hopefully they can do that again. Then you just have to sneak out 2-3 of those games that are "Ls" on paper right now (in terms of I expect we'll be betting underdogs) and boom, playoffs again. Maybe even division depending on what BUF does.
We are better than most of the teams you marked as L. We were 14-3 last year and improved the roster. You have us as a team with 8-9 talent to get an 8-9 result including “guaranteed” losses to teams we beat and teams that were around or below .500.

People like to forget how good Cam was before he went out with Covid/Shoulder Amputae
I don’t forget, he suck. How good was he? Not good at all.

I could dead ass see 1-3 or 4-0 to start. Who knows with early season.

Team was ass to start last season then ripped off an epic streak.
Agreed.. go figure Bengals missed out on a playoff berth becuase they lost to the Mayo patriots.. 2024 in week 1..

If they're 3-1 after the first 4 weeks they're winning the division. That's a pretty cake schedule after the bye.
I don't see how a team with a top 5 QB, Excellent Head coach also essentially 3 head coaches on the roster Vrabel, Josh and Marrone, an Improved roster a better offensive line.. and upgrades at WR and on defense could possibly be 8-9.. that thinking shows posters aren't being very logical. If we have 8 wins then that must mean injuries had to have ravaged the team..

It's a tough schedule, as expected, not the worst, of course, but far tougher than last year. All the "fool's gold" talk was annoying last year, but buried in all the Newtonian Jackassery, there was a point. This year's schedule is as tough as we thought, but last year's Pats team was not, as the SB showed, as tough as we thought or imagined, so the question is first how much actual improvement have they made and second how many of those improvements will actually manifest themselves at the season's start when they have such a tough series of games. It's too early and I'm too lazy to do a detailed prediction, but it sorta feels like a nip-and-tuck nine-win season with about an equal balance of disappointments and serendipitous moments. I think we have to regard the Pats' having made it the SB last year as indicative of less progress in the rebuild than we might wish to think. My thought is that this season the core of a genuinely SB-worthy team can be established and that, unless the team listens to the fanboys and wastes too many draft resources on whatever has-been WR strikes their giddy fancy, the year following could see a resumption of the Patriots Dynasty, restoring the Universe to its proper balance. This rebuild started at a very low point and was delayed in its start by holding onto Bill for too long, then hiring someone clearly (from the start) incompetent to lead the team thjough thr rebuild. The damage was deep, and the cupboard was bare. It takes a while to recover form that sort of decline. Progress has been fine, and we are almost there. We have a QB, and we have a head coach, assuming the goddam clickbait press and all the gossip-mongering assholes in the fan base will let him work.
