So he may be an IOL backup, too.If crownover shows the ability to play some guard then thatd be amazing. You could then get away with 8 and technically have 2 backup options at both ot and og. If he can’t then we’ll likely need to carry 9 ol with another og on the roster.
As long as Wolf is speaking from a Fifth person perspective. Noting Wolf says should be taken as gospel.Wolf mentioned that they thought Lumo could play G. So he may be an IOL backup, too.
That makes sense. Lumo is another Campbell. Both are solid LT starters, and could likely be solid starters at LG.Wolf mentioned that they thought Lumo could play G. So he may be an IOL backup, too.
Wolf is the Guy who said Caeden Wallace could play RT- LT and now Guard. So glad we didn't see that experiment last year. Somebody should tell Misses Maye to watchout: Elliott Wolf might more than a statue erected to Drake Maye. That makes sense. Lumo is another Campbell. On the other hand, that new stubby RB can shoot thru his legs like a croquet ball - stealth.Ive mentioned it a before. 6’7” at G is kind of tall. Not that it can’t be done. It is preferred in the 6’2” range but he has the agility
Seems like fans have punched Crownover's ticket in Canton Ma already.
For any team, at any level.Kind of like you do for anyone who plays WR?

Crownover (6-foot-7, 319 pounds) spent five years as a contributor at Texas A&M, and he started all 13 games in each of his final two seasons at right tackle. New England's first-round pick of the 2026 NFL Draft, Caleb Lomu, projects as the team's future starter at right tackle with Will Campbell already solidified on the left side, meaning Crownover will compete with the likes of James Hudson, Marcus Bryant, Sebastian Gutierrez and Lorenz Metz for depth reps as a rookie.Patriots' Dametrious Crownover: Snagged by New England
Patriots' Dametrious Crownover: Snagged by New Englandwww.cbssports.com
Crownover ended his productive A&M career with 1,886 snaps at right tackle for the Aggies. As a senior, he recorded 16 games at right tackle and allowed just two sacks on the year. Also allowing 27 pressures, Crownover's 6'7", 335-pound frame, and improved mechanics, he possesses the necessary athletic traits to become a reliable starter. His primary position is at right tackle.New England Patriots selected Texas A&M OL in sixth round of NFL draft
Texas A&M OL Dametrious Crownover is off the board, as the New England Patriots selected the Aggie starter in the sixth round.aggieswire.usatoday.com
According to Pro Football Focus, Crownover earned a 58.4 pass blocking grade, but did thrive as a run blocker, and has all the potential to become a lock-down tackle in pass protection if his footwork and hand placement improve with the new coaching staff. One of the top performers at the Senior Bowl, Crownover's potential was evident to every scout in attendance.
As a former tight end in high school, it's no surprise that Crownover, who was once considered a likely undrafted free agent, increased his stock in the matter of months, especially after 40-plus starts at right tackle in the SEC, which is highly valuable for any coaching staff.
One of my biggest motivations is being under-recruited out of high school. I knew the player I wanted to be, but it took people some time to see it. I had to prove who I am and what I can do. No matter where you are in your situation, keep going and try to get better every day. It might take one day or one week, but as long as you keep working, your opportunity will come.Horned Frogs First Person: Namdi Obiazor - TCU Athletics

True. The only decent pick from day 3. And it's not even Remotely ****ing Close.
I have hoped that he could be a backup on the right side at RT and RG.This would be fantastic. The more versatility the better especially if it eliminates the need for an extra guard(unless we really do like wallace, i still haven’t gotten a great read on what he can offer)
Wolf was restating what the Penn State O-line coach stated. But you love pushing your garbage narratives..Wolf is the Guy who said Caeden Wallace could play RT- LT and now Guard. What would you now. You're actually worse than stone. You make blind squirrels look like they have X-ray vision.True.
86 inch wingspan.
We’re talking a bunch of 5th and 6th rounders since we didn’t have a 4. Wouldn’t lose sleep over a couple picks in a weak draft that were “head scratchers”The only decent pick from day 3. And it's not even Remotely ****ing Close.
I tend to agree with the captain. I would have used a 6th to move up in the 5th to make sure I got Crownover or simply drafted him in the 5th. I would have trade for a 2027 pick and then drafted UDFA level players. We’re talking a bunch of 5th and 6th rounders since we didn’t have a 4. lol anytime you agree with the Good Captain you are probably making a bad decisionI tend to agree with the captain. I would have used a 6th to move up in the 5th to make sure I got Crownover or simply drafted him in the 5th. I would have trade for a 2027 pick and then drafted UDFA level players.
Instead we got Prunty in addition. Ok, congrats to the staff.
But this class kinda sucked. I don’t hate just taking guys you like some intangible's at that stage. It’s all project players anyway.I tend to agree with the captain. They’re all projects, so writing them off before they even report for duty is premature. But this class kinda sucked. I don’t hate just taking guys you like some intangible's at that stage. It’s all project players anyway.
I wasn’t in love with the picks. But I didn’t have tons of guys I loved in that later stretch of the draft this year.
