2027 Watch List

Now at Ohio State. i made an Arvell Reese comp for him last year. I don't think he's that good, Reese was doing to O/Linemen what Alliegro does to RBs but going to Ohio State may do wonders for Alliegro's stock. Vrabel will love him too. He broke his arm against Ohio State las year and continued to play, ratcheting up 6 tackles.

If my theory is right that Vrabel was looking for his Derrick Henry last year with the attention paid to 230lb plus RBs, Florida's Jaden Baugh might be that guy this year.

IIRC, Baugh also has pretty good receiving ability.

LB Whit Weeks of LSU was being very highly touted at this time last year but injury derailed his season. He's worth keeping an eye on this season.

Missed tackle rates from some leading LB in this class. Last years stats.

The top 3 are three of my favourites.

Sammy Omosigho (UCLA, formerly Oklahoma) - Zero
Kyngstonn Viliamu-Asa (ND) - Zero
Sammy Brown (Clemson) - Zero

Ray Coney (TAMU f. Tulsa) - 4.5% (comfortably most run defense snaps on this list)
Caleb Woodson (Alabama, f. Virginia Tech) - 6.1%
Amare Campbell (Tennessee, f. Penn State) - 6.3%
Ben Roberts (Texas Tech) - 7.3%
Rasheem Biles (Texas f. Pitt) - 8.1%
Raylen Wilson (Georgia) - 9.5%
Chris Cole (Georgia) - 10.3%
Christian Alliegro (Ohio State f. Wisconsin) - 13.5%
Whit Weeks (LSU) - 15%
Isaiah Glasker (BYU) - 16.1%
Austin Romaine (Texas Tech f. Kansas State) - 17.1%

As this is a watch list, I'd suggest most of us don't know about:

Ray Coney, LB, Texas A&M (formerly Tulsa)
6-2, 240lbs

Have to pay attention when a top SEC team take someone from a place like Tulsa. As you can see rom the list above, Coney had the least missed tackles of the also-rans.

Last years grades:

Def - 87.6
RDEF - 86.9
TACK - 88.2
PRUSH - 75.2 (23 pressures, 2 sacks)
COV - 73.7

Only KVA graded higher than Coney last year among the leading LBers.

He is not scared of taking on OL

The Day 1 & 2 WR class is potentially insane next year. Here's the receivers in the consensus big board top 100.

3- Jeremiah Smith, Ohio State
8 - Cam Coleman, Texas
18. Ryan Coleman-Williams, Alabama
30. Nick Marsh, Indiana
34. Charlie Becker, Indiana
42. Mario Craver, Texas A&M
45. Omarion Miller, Arizona State
51. Ryan Wingo, Texas
56. TJ Moore, Clemson
71. Nyck Harbor, S Carolina
82. KJ Duff, Rutgers
86. Bryant Wesco, Clemson
89. Eric Singleton, Florida
90. Duce Robinson, Florida St
98. Wyatt Young, Oklahoma State

I think there's a lot to prove after Charlie Becker but the likes of Miller, Wingo, Moore, Harbor and Duff have legitimate upside as X WRs or no 1s.

Mayo and I were debating Sammy Brown v KVA in the pundit mock draft thread. Not really a debate because we kind of agree but I went back and watched some Sammy Brown. He might not put up Jacob Rodriguez's turnover numbers, but he might be a better pure linebacker. Brown is so instinctive, takes great pursuit angles and just doesn't make mistakes (zero missed tackles). He might not have that something extra that gets a LB a first round grade but you'd be hard pushed to find a more reliable and consistent prospect in this draft.

Teach tape middle linebacker play.
