FUNNY LINK "Explain what it's like being a [JEST] fan, using the best analogy or example you can think of"

Story/Link that will hopefully make you laugh.
With news like this, how can Jets fans not love being a Jets fan.

The most amazing thing about the jets, and it was brought up a few times in this thread, is that when you think things can't get any worse for them, it does. Every year.

If I had to compare being a jets fan to anything, it would be to a nightmare. Like the one where I'm being chased by something horrible and now, instead of being the gifted runner that I normally would be, I'm slipping, sliding and falling down constantly.

Best irony would be if Russ passes on the Jets QB contract to take a gig broadcasting Jets games.

Dov Kieman == engagement farmer, FWIW..

I did hear on a podcast that CBS has offered him Matt Ryan's now-available studio job.

Russ would be a fool to pick da Jete over that.

MFer has earned a lot of NFL money already, time to get some of that sweet TV money.

He shouldn't wait till he embarrasses himself so much that the offers don't come.

The same podcast had a Seattle beat reporter admitting that Russ will not get a HOF jacket.

It has a lot to do with the pass he threw to Malcolm Butler.

It turns out that this is the play most people associate him with, regardless of anything else he did.

Also sucking ass in DEN was pretty fatal to his chances.

Like being on the Apollo 11 mission,..... but Houston doesnt have a solution; and you just orbit the earth .... FOREVAAAAH.

I’d say the entire Apollo 11 mission is pretty apt “as is”.

Your goal is to get to the moon. You never do...

Almost gents. I suspect you both meant Apollo 13, a disaster the crew was fortunate to survive. Apollo 11 on the other hand was the most celebrated and successful space flight of all time. So yeah... other than that...

Historically bad franchise. The worst in all sports.

Their QB situation and coaching last year--half have been upgraded, some like Dunbar, their new DL position coach, and Reich, their new OC, in a BIG way--were abysmal.

I admit I was wrong about Justin Fields last preseason. Couldn't throw. Didn't want to take off and run.

But their new GM is winning over a lot of nfl insiders. Darren Mougey to the rescue?

Three firsts next year.

Looks as though they already hit rock bottom.
They've been at rock bottom for 15 straight years.
There is no bottom.

Same as being a Red Sox fan from 1918 to 2004.

Careful, you'll piss off the "Impossible Dream" boomers.

Oh, I am one of them. Rico Petrocelli was my favorite player and I remember seeing them play in 1967 - it's one of my earliest sports recollections. I distinctly remember eating popcorn from a tube that became a megaphone when you finished.

Besides, they came closer in 1975 - that WAS catcher interference! - and again in 1986... Bob #$*& Stanley. In 1967 Bob Gibson was un-hittable. It only went to 7 games because Gibson couldn't pitch every game.

That said, Red Sox fans are the perfect analogy to Jets fans. Joe Namath is their Babe Ruth.

Oops. 13 is a better jester # too.

Isn't this against some physics law or sumthin?

What goes up must come down? And vice versa.

I'm telling you guys that the new Jets GM Darren Mougey is excellent.

Last year I think the Jets set a record for one measure of futility: last six games lost by 20 or more points, a first in the NFL.

No INTs.

But the off season moves and the draft by Mougey have been highly competent.

I'm telling you ole geezers--I feel like that ole Jewish geezer in Rocky warning about Mr T, Clubber sumthin--that the Jets, though still a year away, will start making some noise.

No offense, but your track record usually means the opposite is going to happen.
Ain't I at least a stopped watch that's right twice a day?

Didn't we have a bet on the Saints Rattlin QB last season that I won over you?

There's a house I want to buy so I can stash my reporter lady friend.

Thank GOODNESS you aren't talking about me!

I'm a "Rice/Lynn Era Boomer", thank you very much!

If only Jim Rice didn't get hit by that pitch...

A bet? No. I said he sucked. He did suck. He got replaced by the rookie halfway through the season who sucked less, and your boy Spencer Rattler can peddle his 1-13 career record somewhere else soon enough.

You were 0-for-quarterbacks, 0-for-"Nobody's beating Philly/Denver/Rams/Buffalo etc in the playoffs"

Surely THIS brand new GM for the Jets will be the key to ultimate success, and not blow all their first round picks like the last 6 Jets GMs did because their owner is a colossal toolbag who lets his grandsons build their roster due to Madden ratings.

20-26 for 221 yards. Zero Interceptions, zero TD tosses. Chris Olave let a long TD pass go through his hands. Not bad, Spencer Rattler. Esp for a player who sucks.

Final score 25-19.

Imagine this player on a team that could run the ball? That game the Saints top two RBs could only average 3.1 and 2.6 yards a carry against the Patriots D.

Maybe the Jets who are desperate for even adequate QB play should acquire the Saints bu QB.
