Reiss: Vrabel will not be present day 3 of draft

Your second paragraph illustrates why this is purely PR. I am sure he is trying to put his personal life together. Going to counseling or whatever else he will be doing will not impact anything if it starts a day later. Him making it look like he is sacrificing for his family is just that, for the looks.
My guess is that changes in the Vrabel household are forthcoming for Mr. Vrabel and time spent at work is on the list.
I had no clue and still don't understand why this blew up so much. But stuff like this just gives it more oxygen.
Whatever happens to the people managing the Pats happens to the team.

Since we as fans are invested in the Pats its crucial to know whats going on.

All Celebrities and Sports personalities being paid generational incomes for entertaining the public forfeit most of their privacy as a trade off.
Its sad that Vrabel has to be incessantly judged in the court of public opinion for what should be a private matter.
That is the trade off; fame and money for privacy

I am worried that Russini may not be the only woman Vrable was messing with and this could end up getting a lot more ugly ...
We may need to go back over timelines of BB’s first divorce, fling with the next one, and timing of the Hudson thing. Betcha we see overlap there.

This. Is. Not. Unique.

****ty?

Yes.

Unusual?

No.

I will say this:

THAT Vrabel cheated isn’t cool.

But that he did so in 2026 with another public figure, in a public space is just plain dumb.

If this is made necessary by his marital situation or in support of his own emotional well-being, he is in my judgement doing just the right thing. To the extent it is necessitated by the self-indulgence of sanctimonious, gossiping fan boys or by the pandering of clickbait-mongering "journalists" to the needs of knuckldraggers in the fanbase for salacious titillation, it is unfortunate.

Very fair. I hadn't really considered that perspective. Makes a lot of sense. Seems like a silly thing to the general public but it could be a very strong gesture to his wife that he's taking it seriously, even if it is "only" day 3. It would definitely show a serious level of commitment.

Thank you for that response because you honestly changed my view on it entirely.
I think back to playing church basketball as a kid. Our coach one year was a church member that was the secondary coach for a powerhouse football team at a local high school. State championships, multiple NFL players.

After he retired, he and his wife moved away, and my parents visited them once when my sister's family was living nearby at the time. His wife mentioned how much she loved him being around, stating it was almost like being single during football season every year. And this is high school football we're talking about. I can't imagine what it's like having a husband or father coaching in the NFL.

So it isn't a big deal to me for him to let the people he trusts handle day 3 of the draft so he can prioritize his wife.

I really still can't believe that early on in this thread people believed that he wasn't cheating on his wife with Russini. The performative "You can be friends with women without anything sexual" bros on here were my favorite.

Adults don't care and regard it as none of their business in any, or perhaps those who don't share your need to dwell on the matter are simply more healthy-minded.

Yet here you are in a thread about it, commenting on it.

It's very possible Mike's "One Eyed Devil" took over his rational thinking and if so, well it happens. I think Mike has children that are college age. He's probably been married for well over 20 years. He probably loves his family very much and perhaps those of you that have been through a divorce might remember the pain that can go along with that. So with the "possibility" of seeing a happy marriage go down the drain, I can see where his thinking , choices, and priorities can be changed where Day 3 of the draft is not the most important thing in the world right now. But once again, we don't know all the facts and can speculate all we want but I wish Mike and his Wife the best and hope they are able to pull through this situation.

The bottom line is the draft will go on and some new Patriot players will make it and some won't and opening day will come and go. . .

I had said from the beginning that the pictures didn’t look good but did not prove anything. This proves that something happened. Saying that. I think he is handling this embarrassing situation for his Wife, family and himself the best way possible. I am sure this is a statement to his wife and family that he would be willing to miss an important day as far as coaching to put them first. It also shows that his marriage is strained but not lost. It also shows that he is putting his family over Russini to not carry on with deception.
I am sure that they have their targeted players on day 3 and will allow Wolf and Cowden to choose those players via trades or picks. Is this a great situation No. But it shows a willing to confess to his family and team to hopefully make him a better person. We all make mistakes. It’s how you choose to rectify the mistake. He’s taking the right route.
Personally. I still feel this is a family matter and I will give him the benefit of the doubt and wish him and his fami,y the best. I’m not perfect by any stretch and would hope the same,

I was loath to bring this up, but since this has become so public and the cat seems out of the bag, here’s what has to be said for nuance:

It is possible that Vrabel’s wife had shut down the ol’ lovin train.

It happens.

Women’s libido’s tail of much faster than Men’s do.

It absolutely creates tension and a tricky dynamic.

Not an excuse, as the proper thing in that case is divorce first (if sex is important to one partner and not the other) …but it happens and I’m not judging him for it.

Hopefully this story dies this wkend.

Unless Sidney Sweeney gets pregnant with lKanye's baby, or Caitlin Jenner changes sex again there is no way Mika Felger will turn his attention away from Vrabel's scandalous behavior,

Her husband looks a little bit like Vrabel. Maybe she into guys with that kind of face...
Now, I say this in a heterosexual manner: this dude is a good looking guy. Why was she publicly insulting him at every turn? Guy certainly deserves better.

The head coach of my team was potentially staring down the barrel of a nasty divorce. You're damn right I am concerned it could affect his ability to focus on his job.

I don't understand ridiculing those who wish to follow the situation.

If you've never seen someone's job affected by their lives being turned upside down, then you've either never seen someone's life turned upside down, or you've never seen a real job.

It clearly impacted Belichick, the Patriots only won 2 Lombardi's during he and his wife's separation, and they only won 1 Lombardi the year he actually got divorced. We lost out on at least 3 other Lombardi's during that time span. Cheatin' bastard, totally screwed his team's over, no wonder they hated their coach.

Ooooo. It all just sound so titillating when you on about it. Enjoy. How you must miss the old Jerry Springer show.
