Prior to the draft, trades continual signins.. if he were on this roster right now.. he and Jones would be the starters at edge. Tells you exactly where the position has been the past few seasons apart from judon and the flash in the pan uche...
In no order, I think OT, Edge and WR will be the first 3 picks of the draft.

How do you figure that a guy who misses 25-27% of his tackles is an upgrade?? Not to mention he's looking for a contract in the $19M range....

Help me understand your thought process on this..

He wouldn't be 'looking' for that $19M, in a trade he'd come with it this year and next. Other than that, point well taken. $19M for a player that comes with question marks....

I think his contract is already 19 million and he wants more. I would pass. There are some good off the ball linebackers available in this draft.
Greenard would be an EDGE for the Patriots. Not an "Off the ball" guy.

Lower missed tackle rate than Chaisson and as effective at getting to the QB. Upgrade in my book, but the cost is significant so a hard pass from me. Especially if the can get Jacas who plays in a very similar style to Greenard

How is 3 sacks "as effective at getting to the QB" as Chaisson's 7.5? Chaisson was a starter. Greenard would be coming off the bench as he's not an upgrade over Landry or Jones.

From Pro-Football-Reference.

Chaisson had 7.5 sacks and 18 QB hits on 400 Pass Rushing snaps. 1 sack or QB hit every 15.7 snaps. 12 missed tackles

Greenard had 3 sacks and 11 QB hits on 270 Pass rushing Snaps. 1 sack or QB hit every 19.3 snaps. 11 missed tackles

Dre'mont Jones had 7 sacks and 24 QB Hits on 507 Pass Rushing Snaps. 1 sack or QB hit every 16.35 snaps. 3 Missed tackles

To me, what Jones did last year is more impressive since he did it while playing on 2 different teams. Jones is the upgrade. Greenard is not.

I agree that Jones is an upgrade as well.

This is fun so lets look at 2024 or 2023 for Greenard 12 and 12.5 sacks and 22 QB hits in both seasons as well as less than 10 missed tackles both years. I don't know where to find pass rush snap counts for those years, but he seems pretty effective. Again I do not want them to trade for him but to suggest that he is not an upgrade is pretty ridiculous.
