2026 Draft: WR

Just a reminder that J Michael Sturdivant of Florida is the 19th most athletic WR since 1987. Well worth a flyer if he’s there in the 6th round.

Absolutely. As would the #2 most athletic WR since 1987.

Agreed but I don’t think he falls to the 6th round. He’s more a 3rd/4th guy I think based upon Dont’e Thornton last year.

The X receiver that really intrigues me as a late round value is Georgia's Colbie Young. Best deal with the elephant in the room. He was arrsted in 2024 for assault on his pregnant girlfriend and although she asked for the charges to be dropped, he was convicted. That alone may make him undraftable.

However, looking beyond that, there' a lot to like.

He's 6'5"

His release.

Has very good hands. Aside from his freshman year, he's never had more than two drops in a season and even then it was only three.

He's huge. Look at him in the gauntlet. He had the fastest time in the gauntlet too.

His stats at Miami prior to going to Georgia

Convicted felon. No thanks!

I admire your noble stance, truly I do.

As for myself, however. I am far less principled and far more cynical. I think a significantly high proportion of players in the draft are likely to be scumbags. They just get away with it because they're superstars from a young age.

Therefore, if the guy got 1,500 receiving yards for us I'd happily look the other way.

Well now that I know it wasnt for what he was arrested for I will give him the benefit of the doubt.

I myself was convicted of a misdemeanor at roughly the same age.

Everyone makes mistakes in life, some more egregious than others.
I am NOT CONDENING what he did.
But, was it an isolated incident, or a pattern of behaviour?
That is why every team spends millions of dollars scouting, and evaluating players medically, psychologically....etc.
If we, or any NFL team took a swing on him, you have to trust they did their homework. Now that being said, there are teams that seem to be more risk adverse when it comes to players with history, a bucket I think we fall into.

Good find. Manx. Very intriguing.
