Not as big of a deal as players, nor shocking really, so didn't feel like it deserved its own thread, but still worth sharing - STC Jeremy Springer signed an extension w/ Pats:

I don’t see Pop as a truly special slot for NE. Reason being 1.) he’s TINY and Drake seems to prefer bigger guys.

2.) And this is a unique quirk Pop has…I don’t know that I’ve ever seen a WR who catches the ball, and then immediately falls over the moment he tries to cut. It’s inexplicable how often Pop does that.

He’s solid for what he does but he is extremely overrated in the fan base for sure.

He is a perfectly serviceable 4th or 5th WR. Fine at his job but not a guy you want to be starting for you. Good to use in small doses or gadget plays, or if a guy or two are hurt. I'd be happy to keep him around a while but only if there are at least 3 or 4 solid guys ahead of him.

Well Buffalo's achilles after a primed Stephon Diggs for Four years was WR. To say we have had issues at that very position post Brady is an understatement. I want Drake Maye to have an embarrassment of riches at WR and TE: we are currently paltry in both areas.
The other approach is to limit resources spend on receivers because Maye will elevate whoever you get.
That allows you to put that money into building a better team around him.
Why devote so many resources to an “embarrassment of riches” at the expense improving the players and units that Maye cannot elevate.
Maye with decent receivers and a great OL and D wins more than Maye with a bunch of top receivers but a neglected ol and d

What a load of ********.
Do you ever watch the games?
Pierce is nothing like Hayes.

I watch the games. Thanks. go try that BS with someone else.

The Bengals prove what you are saying to a point but that's because the Bungals kept Higgins and Chase.

We saw what the lack of a go to guy can do to your offense in the postseason against elite defenses.

Having that #1 guy is worth it and doesn't hamper the rest of the roster. Paying 2 guys like #1 WR's makes no sense.

Brandon Lloyd says hi.

You spelled OL protection wrong.

Having that and a QB who's always looking for a homerun throw makes it worse.

Saw this earlier, he's been a good player since he was drafted.
Getting old, but it's probably about the $.

While I agree upgrades are need at WR/TE, the OL is a dire need right now that needs to be addressed first. Pats need at minimum veteran OL at LG and RT, but preferably upgrades at LG, C and RT. With that said, it does seem like the Pats are going to be aggressive in FA given the recent release of Diggs.
