2026 Draft: Interior OL

@manxman2601 - Was Grable at the East/West Game??? Or did he lose out that as well as the Combine?
The HBCU Legacy bowl apparently which is an all-star game for prospects from "historically black colleges and universities".

Hadn't realized they'd added another "All-Star" game in that respect.

I really need to see more on the kid.. He is on the older side at 24 already.

Right up my street then (An in-joke for regulars here. I have a tendency to like 5th and even 6th year seniors this year).

I really know nothing about him.

I've got it draft Lomu or Anchor for RT, Rutledge to play LG and Farmer for RG. Trade Owenu and cut Bradbury

WC-Rutledge-Wilson-Farmer-Lomu. OL solved in 2 years after they all become adequate. lol

My only problem with adding too many rookies is that we're not advancing on last year.

I said it mostly in jest. I would like them to bring a few draft picks in and I think they will want to move on from Owenu eventually in an effort to move to more outside zone.

Bring in a LG and a RT to replace Moses in the future but keep Onwenu for this year. We can always replace him next. Rome and offensive lines don't get (re)built in a day.

Yea, I am all in on Keeping Owenu this year to keep some continuity, but I think that next year is the year they move on. I would still prefer a vet LG over a rook to be in between WC and Wilson

forgive me if I've already posted this but I lose track of the clip highlights I post. It's a good point about Jalen Farmer having experience against SEC defenses.

My question about Farmer is whether he can flip over to the left side. We know that Onwenu did not do well playing there when the Pats tried him there.

It's a fair point although Farmer has better feet and is more athletic than Onwenu. The same problem applies to the other guard that might be there in Rnd 3, Keylan Rutledge. He's a RG too.

We need a RG in 2027. No harm in having one in waiting with a year of experience and weight training. We all know that Wilson could have used a year of training.

The NFL SE guys are talking about Illinois' JC Davis being an exceptional run blocker. He's 81st percentile in negatively graded run blocking plays which is very good. Also, if we draft him we can just nickname him Bain. That's the facemask of a mean MFer.

How many players like Wallace can we have on the 53 (a future contributor and current nothing)?

Personally, I PRESUME that we will draft our 2027 RT and will carry a backup LT on the 53 along with Brown. That's 3 backups, presuming that Wilson starts at center, or 8 total including a starting veteran LG.

I was uncomfortable with Wallace. I suppose that our RG draftee could be expected to play if needed.

Yeah theres been way too much focus on '27 needs. You cant have a backup for every possible hole down the road. Priority is plugging holes now. We have plenty of them. '26 LG is a bigger priority than '27 RT or RG.

If anything, I think the '27 need that could loom large is corner opposite Gonzalez. Davis is probably cut after the year and that opens a gaping hole. And, if anyone was the surprise full season starter in '25, it was Davis, not Moses. Moses has been pretty damn durable. Davis just has his first full season of his career.

Great post. Not sure I completely agree, but there is little to disagree with here, if that makes any sense.

We could possibly find a CB2 is R3 or R4, it is really tough these days to find a RT in R3 or R4, but not impossible. Just less likely.

CB is deep in this draft. RT is impossibly possible though probably likely to find of varying quality on any Day though the prime lust is the top 4-5 OT's with the rest considered projectable to most any degree although when it comes to Wolf I shudder when any PSU OL is mentioned.

@manxman2601 - Have you seen any grades on Grable yet? I'm wondering if he might be a late round steal?
