I see your point, but the mens team just erased 46 years of misery.
What the women have done is incredible. It's reminiscent of the UConn women's basketball...just dominance and it's awesome to see, and an inspiration to young American women.
The men's sport is extremely competitive at the top, and the US is usually on the losing side of those matchups. To actually beat the Canadian men's team in the Gold Medal game is crazy. It was a hump they just couldn't get over.
And it's a byproduct of how far the men's game has come here to catch up. I mean, the team captain was raised AND played his formative years in ****in Arizona. We've come a long way from when I was a young American player in the sun belt that had to go to Canada to develop my game. It's just really cool to see.
