Dolphins are going to be awful next year…possibly to get into the Arch Manning sweepstakes for 2027.

Jets talking about giving up “whatever it takes” to go get Medoza.

Bills hired an unproven HC and also have an aging roster.

There’s a very open window for the Pats to own the division if they can continue making smart moves.
Vegas should do "whatever it takes" to soak the Jets.
Mendoza is Tebow with a marginally better arm.

Tua might be next.
Dolphins need to be fined for the intentional tank they're going to do this year. They're going to be paying more in dead cap than actual salaries.

They are the best example of a team that didn't understand when their window was. They should have spent a couple more seasons building to contender level and then going for the guys to put them over the top. Instead they went on a spree of high priced players, won nothing, and fell apart.

If I were the Raiders Id def trade down with the Jets.

Just for fun, I went to PFSN's draft sim and traded down from number one and kept trading down for future picks and 2nd rounders this year. I ended up with 8 second rounders this year and 8 seconds and a 1st next year. Courtesy of the Jets.

The Jets certainly have the picks to make the move.
Vegas could set themselves up for the next half-decade if they can suffer through one more bad year w/o a quarterback.

CBS is reporting that Maxx Crosby's issue with the Raiders is that they shut him down when he wanted to keep playing, and that they did it to tank for the #1 overall.

I agree. If you can find a team that is head over heels for a QB then it makes sense to build a team first. One that sets up a young QB for success.

They can draft another Maxx Crosby.

Arch is kind of Meh though.

100%.
We saw how quickly Judon fell off a cliff.
No thanks for me.
Seems like Chubb fell off the cliff after the trade. Had no problems cashing those game checks though...pass!

I'd love to hear that the Dolphins are dumb enough to tank for Arch. I'd love it. I'd consider planning a rally in the streets to make it happen. That's a really clever way of saying "we're tanking for a season so we can tank the next 5 as well"

And specifically, he also displayed that this is a great place in which to get your tires kicked with the crew of vets he brought in and excelled with in 2025. He wants to go younger but if he can snag a potential very strong depth piece and say "you have a shot at the playoffs and SB appearance here and can ride off into the sunset playing the best football" and get them to play on friendly contracts?

It worked pretty well when we had Brady...

Complete blood letting in Miami today.

Another one with an injury past... I wouldn't mind seeing what if anything he has left to offer; but only at the cost of a one-year, non-guaranteed, vet minimum deal.

We can pay him a bit more than that. 28 years old, great player, had an achilles in 2024 and a pectoral year in 2025, so 2 wasted years. Before that he was very good. Minimum is only $1.25M, the Dolphins only paid him $8M a year coming off his achilles. It has been 2 years since the achilles tear, so maybe his Achilles is OK? If the achilles is OK, we should definitely be in on Daniels.

Nah, if they were doing a true tank, they would have hired Mayo to be their coach.

Their window was Tua. They knew it was going to come crashing down early (they assumed from concussions, not from an inability to not be able to go through progressions) so did their best to maximize it. Would they be better off now with some more cap and no QB as opposed to no cap and no QB? I guess. But I don't blame them for trying.

Daniels turns 29 in September. This year marked the 2nd time he's suffered a pectoral muscle tear in 5 years.
Daniels has some position versatility. He's started at all 3 interior positions, spending 8 games at center for the Bears in 2019 before moving back to LG, his position for all of 2018. With Pitt, his primary position was RG.

I'd have Daniels as my 4th or 5th option for IOL signings. And then, it would be incentive laden at best.

They never won so much as a playoff game, they never had a window.

Nope, but they thought they did. There were a lot of missteps that led them here.
