2026 Mock Draft Thread

Cynthia Frelund with an interesting mock, as usual:

She has the Pats taking Caleb Banks at 31, with Akheem Mesidor and Max Iheanachor both available. I think Banks is a top 10 talent.

Blake Miller and Monroe Freeling go 28/29.

Banks and try to trade up for Iheanachor?

Iheanachor and try to trade up for Mesidor? TJ Parker goes 20 in this mock.
The trouble with trading up is that you have to convince a team with a high 2nd round pick to move to the last one. I don't think you're doing that without giving up a lot.

To get back up into the Top 50 it would take our '26 - 2nd & 3rd & 5th - or more depending on trade partner.

So with Banks, Lee Hunter, Mesidor and Zion Youngall still on the board, I take Iheanachor at 31/32, and pray that one falls, with Jacas/Lawrence/Moore fallback options.

I like the idea of getting a RT of the future, but I think that puts more pressure on ensuring we sign a FA Edge. I am kinda on the Joseph Ossai band wagon but he feels like a Chaisson type pass rusher

It looks like the Falcons will need to trade another future first for a pass rusher. The last one might not end up going so well.

3-round mock from Sayre Bedinger:

He has the Pats taking TJ Parker at 31, Brian Parker at 63, and Beau Stephens at 95.

No Treydan Stukes, Devin Moore, Kyle Louis, Ted Hurst or DeZhaun Stribling in his top 100.

Derrick Moore, Gabe Jacas, Malachi Lawrence, and Jonathan Joseph all go 3rd round.

TJ Parker tempting, bit I would probably go Max Iheanachor (36), then trade back a bit from 64 and take a pass rusher. Then Treydan Stukes at 95, trade up for Ted Hurst if possible, and hopefully find a way to get one of Devin Moore or Kyle Louis.

Good players will slip through the cracks. Id be very happy with:

1. Max Iheanachor, OT
3a (Trade back) Malachi Lawrence/Derrick Moore/Gabe Jacas_Jpnathan Joseph, EDGE
3b. Treydan Stukes, S/nickel
4a. (Trade up) Ted Hurst, WR
4b. Devin Moore, CB / Kyle Louis, LB

Find a way to get both Louis and Moore, and add a IOL, and I'd be cheering that draft.

I like it, but Stephens is way too high and I’m probably his biggest fan.

Either TJ Parker or trading the 1st for Crosby is probably my plan a. But I would be equally happy if it’s Freeling or Ihenachor. It’s so hard to find good tackles.

7 rounds from Ian Cummings:

He has the Pats taking:

31. Kadyn Proctor, Oal, Alabama
63. Cashius Howell , Texas A&M
95. Max Klare, TE, Ohio St.
125. Bud Clark, S, TCU
131. Hezekiah Masses, CB, Cal
169. Aiden Fisher, LB, Indiana
189. Eli Heidenrich, ER/RB, Navy
196. Reggie Virgil, WR, Texas Tech
200. James Brockermeyer, OC, Miami
210. Nyjalik Kelly, EDGE, UCF

Overall, not a fan. This one really hurts.

Of note:

9. Caleb Banks
19. Akheem Mesidor
23. Caleb Lomu
24. Max Iheanachor
25. Lee Hunter
27. Zion Young
29. Monroe Freeling
32. Aveion Terrell
33. Denzel Boston
34. Chase Bisontis
35. Chris Bell
37. Emmanuel Pregnon
40. Ted Hurst
41. Keionte Scott
42. TJ Parker
47. Blake Miller
48. Treydan Stukes
49. Emmanuel McNeil-Warren
56. Devin Moore
57. Malachi Lawrence
61. Dillon Thieneman
67. Gabe Jacas
70. Jacob Rodriguez
75. Derrick Moore
89. Dametrious Crownover
96. Jake Golday
97. Antonio Williams
110. Charles Demmings
129. Zakee Wheatley
130. Kyle Louis
145. VJ Payne
149. Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame
150. Keagan Trost, OL, Missouri
151. Josh Cameron
157. Cyrus Allen
161. Tacario Davis

My redraft (no trades):

31. TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson (42)
63. Dametrious Crownover, OT, Texas A&M (89)
95. Jake Golday, LB, Cincinnati (96)
125. Zakee Wheatley, S, Penn St. (129)
131. Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame (149)
169. Jalen Farmer, IOL, Kentucky (171)
189. DeZhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss (ND)
196. Reggie Virgil, WR, Texas Tech
200. Jake Slaughter, OC, Florida (201)
210. Ceyair Wright, CB, Nebraska (211)

Notes:

1. This is almost a worst-case scenario for me, with Mesidor going 19, Banks and Hunter gone, and a run on tackles. Even worse if TJ Parker goes 27 instead of Zion Young. Parker is a solid selection at 31, but with Lomu/Mesidor going 23 and 24 I might try to trade up for Monroe Freeling. I would not take Blake Miller over Parker.

2. Dametrious Crownover is not my top rated player at 63, but he is the remaining RT with the highest ceiling. I might try to trade back in this situation.

3. Jake Golday at 95 is a steal, as is Malachi Fields at 131. Both highly unrealistic, IMO. But again: good players will fall in this draft, and there will be values and opportunities.

4. I like Bud Clark, but I like Zakee Wheatly more.

5. If I trade back from 63 I'd love to trade up for Kyle Louis (130) as well. Golday, Louisville and Wheatley would make up for missing out on Keionte Scott (41), Treydan Stukes (48) and Devin Moore (56).

6. In practice I'd probably move around more to try and get values like Kyle Louis and Tacario Davis.

This is almost a worst-case scenario, but there are still lots of good values.

Here's a variation of that draft with trades,:

1(31). TJ Parker, EDGE, Clemson.

*** Trade: Pats trade #63 to Pittsburgh for #76 and 121.

3(76). Dametrious Crownover, OT, Texas A&M.

3(95). Jake Golday, LB Cincinnati.

4(121). Kyle Louis, LB/S, Pittsburgh.

4(125). Zakee Wheatley, S, Penn St.

4(131). Malachi Fields, WR, Notre Dame

*** Pats trade 169 and 210 to Indianapolis for 154

5(154). Tacario Davis, CB, Washington.

*** Trade: Pats trade 196 and 200 to Baltimore for 173

6(173) JC Davis, OL, Illinois

6(189). DeZhaun Stribling, WR, Ole Miss.

That would not be a bad draft at all.

Cummings has SF picking at 247, but that pick reverted to the Pats. They could pick Micah Morris to keep the Georgia/SB trend alive.

Agreed, but Can’t ignore WR & TE. Need to get younger and more explosive at those positions. Williams isn’t the answer at WR. He’s a JAG unfortunately.

Can get some upgrades on the Oline in Free Agency as well. Vrabel I’m sure has admitted to himself that this Oline just isn’t good enough.

21 Games in a season, that's a lot. We won a lot of games this year. 30 new players on a team, is that a record?

This might be Monday morning QBing but the QB looked tired. Low energy. Didn't look comfortable in warm ups. The game seemed too fast for him and everyone else. He couldn't outrun anyone on Seattle. With his legs. Let's not talk about his arm, may need to amputate, I mean operate. And the coaching, ugh, but that's not for this thread. We should change our team's name to the New England 3 & Outs. But I digress. Again.

1. Bar a few re-signings and depth, our defense is excellent. Gonzo and Woodson were chef's kiss.

2. The offense was shocking. There's a lot of work needed to be done in the off/pre-season. I have no idea what Josh McDaniels was up to yesterday.

3. For the first time I'm prepared to admit that Will Campbell might be better off moving inside. However, I am concerned that adding a rookie LT doesn't fix the problem in the short term.

4. The WRs weren't much better. They couldn't get open consistently.

5. The offensive struggles weren't just a one off. They've struggled throughout the playoffs.

6. My heart hurts at the thought, but Freeling/Lomu probably jump over Mesidor as priorities.

7. OT double dip incoming?

8. It doesn't help in the short term, see the rookie struggles this year, but this is the first time I've thought the draft should be an offensive rather than defensive one largely.

9. But for all that, and this is important, WE GOT TO THE SB IN YR ONE OF THE REBUILD! Let's not forget that.

I do wonder how healthy Maye is/was. He didn't look well before the game nor on the sidelines. He looked flat, not smiling, not his laid back self. Oh, well.

Campbell’s game and the OL in general was very concerning but at the same time, how much of it was he still not being 100%?
So many questions.
Most of all I agree with you, OT needs to be priority #1.

I’m thinking get the guys first and worry about lineups later. Ideally you get an OT in the 1st round and sign either linderbaum or Edwards and figure out who and where they’ll play in camp, theres plenty of time for that.
And if the right guy falls I wouldn’t mind going OL with 31 and 64. It was that bad.

Lot of questions. Combine in a couple of weeks then FA and then a review and a Draft plan.

I'm not opposed but the one advantage to drafting a LT is that you move Campbell and Wilson one place inside which plays to both their strengths. That would negate a need for Lindebaum and while I don't know enough about Edwards, we'd then be replacing one expensive guard with another one. I'm not saying no to either however.

I did see someone say that Campbell could become our Joe Thuney and Wilson has looked out of place at guard - and I'm not seeing much improvement. One of the sacks attributed to Campbell yesterday was on Wilson.

Manman is right. No time to panic....just consider if the direction we were going is any different today? Not much really.
