Easy schedule is BS.
It applies comparing 9-8 and 8-9. It does not apply to 14-3 teams that win 3 playoff games.
The defenses they faced were not a weak schedule.
You can also say the same defenses they faced exposed an overrated offense with no true stars except Maye. And those defenses exposed Maye as well.

Things I'm frustrated to admit I'm suspicious people were right about:

* Campbell not being the answer at OT. Allowing the most pressures of any player in any game in the Super Bowl of all ****ing places is a really bad sign. I also don't love how he was looking away and not seeming to pay attention during one of the shots where Vrabel was trying to coach up the OL.

* That our path to the Super Bowl was too easy. This one I'm less sold on because I think we could have won this game if we were more aggressive in making game and position adjustments. Definitely not a given but down by 12 in the third means the game was by no means out of reach.
I think our schedule helped us get a higher seed than we will likely get next year but we beat some legit good teams in the playoffs along the way. The entire NFL media complex and 31 other fan bases just hate this franchise. We are 1-2 pieces on offense of this Super Bowl being completely different on offense. The harder part is that we got a lot of contributions from veterans and I won't be surprised to see the offensive stinkfest continue into next season.

On defense, we have some guys who weren't household names that will be now: Chaisson, Spillane, Woodson. We do still lack top end talent so if we do have a down year next year I don't mind having a better shot at some blue chip prospects because we need them.

****ing weak

That's a terrible look considering the QB will get 90% of the blame and has to sit up there and eat it.

You can't be a hardo and say you'll die for you QB and then give up the most pressures all season in the Super Bowl then run and hide from the media, that's pathetic.

All regular season Maye was making several jaw dropping throws downfield every game. We're talking just simply elite amazing throws 20-30, 40 yards downfield. Those plays were few and far between in the post season. Was it bc he was hurt as he said he took a toradol (guessing) shot or was it because he can't make plays against good defenses OR mcdaniels drilled it into his head so much to take care of the ball that Maye was gun shy. Or did mcdaniels just take the middle/ deep middle/perimeter game out of the game plan.
They won games all season with Maye slinging it downfield, passing on early downs... And mcdaniels turns the playoffs into the Stevenson show. Don't get it

Question about Campbell. If he had known lower body strength issues and short arms were a concern, in retrospect was he the right pick at 4?
Pats were in a no win situation and coming off two back to back 4-13 seasons. I wasn't excited about Campbell, but the Pats had a dire need at LT. Teams reach when they are desperate.

I had my issues with Matt Light and Solder getting abused at certain points, but they'd at least hold up for periods during the game. Campbell, on the other hand, was alarmingly bad it seemed like on every passing play. It was getting painful to watch.

I am bullish on both. I get the easy regular season schedule, but this team didn't play 20 easy games and lose the second they faced a good team. They have just been overachieving and every game was a close fight with very little room for error. This time it went the other way. It happens, and we aren't the only team to lose to Seattle. Oh well.

As far as Campbell goes I felt pretty good about him up until his injury. Let's not forget these rookies have had a packed last 365 days between workouts, the combine, the draft, rookie camp, etc. They just played 2 seasons of college ball in one NFL season. I think some grace can be afforded to him, especially after toughing out a knee injury. I wouldn't panic on him just yet

Our impressive rookie draft class just got an insane amount of deep playoff experience. We need to nail this draft. This is our 2010 and 2012.

Look Seattle was significantly more talented and today was better coached.

It happens.

What I DON’T want to see is this team miss the playoffs next year. This can’t be a the peak.
Sadly we will miss next year .

We have an ageing team and performance will dip. We need to take some risky moves like getting a new rt , center and left guard.

Get new tight ends and possibly get younger at wr with Alec Pierce instead of diggs and find a slot receiver.

I bet we could get a discount on JPJ from the Falcons…

Shows what the Seahawks think of the Patriots as a team

None of us saw Lowe improving as much as he did.

Let's not whistle past the bad weather graveyard and Maye as well. Rain, snow etc and he struggles. Small hands might have something to do with that as well.

Other player I'm mad at: Henderson. So many runs in the first half where he just hits the hole without any patience, unless he's being coached to do that. One jump cut on those runs up the middle could have gotten 4+ yards instead of 0.
