Jesus they suck on 3rd long on offense.
They are great at play action. Stop the run and it forces them to be more conventional, where they're not as good.

I cant stop thinking about this book and Parcells Super Bowl winning teams.

The 2001 Pats were a carbon copy of a Parcells team IMO and this Pats team is too. This method works even today in the era of fantasy football offenses. If you recall, the Parcells Giants team faced off in Super Bowl 25 vs Jim Kelly and the Bills K Gun offense. The Bills had the #1 offense and 6th ranked defense. Buffalo would go on to appear in 3 more consecutive Super Bowls losing them all. They were a Dynasty without the hardware. The Giants had the 15th ranked offense and the 1st ranked defense. Bill Belichick was their DC.

Parcells was a clever football tactician. Little was left to chance - field direction choice, weather, game management. The Bills were expected to wax the Giants since they had so many weapons. Parcells put on a clinic of ball control having the ball for 40 minutes to the Bills 20 minutes. The other teams offense is toothless without the ball sitting on the bench. The game has not changed. The Pats would face KC in the 2018 AFCC and the Pats had the ball first and went on a 7 minute TD drive. Approximately 50% of the 1st quarter was gone and KC hasnt touched the ball. Which creates a sense of urgency even though it was still early in the game.

Anyway, Super Bowl 25 would still be a close game. The Giants took the lead in the 4th quarter 20 - 19, but Buffalo would move in FG range with 00: 08 seconds remaining. A 47 yard FG that Scott Norwood would miss. The Giants won because they played defense, ran the ball, committed 0 turnovers and had luck on their side that day.

1 Defense wins championships like great pitching negates great hitting.
2 You must be able to run the ball and keep the defense honest.
3 You must play smart mistake free as possible.
4 A little luck can make or break you.

On February 8, 2026 the New England Patriots will find a way to win.

Can someone tell me why everyone talks about the Patriots' easy schedule, but never talk about how the Seahawks only faced a handful of real NFL caliber QBs this year? Yes, the Patriots had a cake schedule. But the Seahawks faced mostly below average and back up QBs. And many of the good QBs they faced actually picked apart their defense.

JSN-hit him at the LOS, double team.

Stafford x3. Best QB in the league
Lawrence beat on the road.
Not even close

Its hilarious listening to national media about the game.

As far as they're concerned the game is over. The pats don't stand a chance.

No mention ever about Zach charbonnet being out fit the season. No talk about how woolen almost cost them the game.

Its a foregone conclusion that this is the best defense the pats have played even though the last 3 teams were better.

Seattle doesn't have to blitz apparently cause demarcus Lawrence is some how more dominant that will Anderson.

Just so much bs and zero analysis
Locker room will have plenty of motivation. 52 players turning into Bobby Boucher

Lawrence was playing like crap when he faced the Seahawks. Lawrence didn't start playing well until after he faced the Seahawks. People were calling him a bust around the time he faced the Seahawks. Lawrence didn't turn it around until the Jags traded for Jacobi Meyers which was three weeks after the Jags played the Seahawks.

And even so, Lawrence had a decent game against the Seahawks going 27 for 42 for 257 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INT (97.1 rating). He was sacked 7 times though.

Stafford feasted on the Seahawks defense in two of the three times he faced them.

NFCCG - 22 for 35 for 374 yards and 3 TDs and 0 INTs. 1 sack. 127.6 QR
Week 16 - 29 for 49 for 457 yards, 3 TDs, 0 INTs. No sacks. 110.7 QR
Week 11: 15 for 28 for 130 yards, 2 TDs, and 0 INTs. No sacks. 89.9 QR

So in three meetings with the Seahawks, Stafford got 8 TDs, 0 INTs, sacked only once, and averaged 320.3 yards passing per game. I don't think the Texans gave up one three hundred yard passer all year and Maye was the only one to get 3 TDs on them.

My point stands. The Seahawks' defense played mostly crappy QBs. When they played good QBs, they didn't do well most of the time.

The Seahawks' defensive stats are padded by playing bad QBs. Yet, no one talks about that.

I prefer Isaiah Likely.
Of course you do. You clearly didn't watch him and his lack of production and horrible blocking against the Patriots.

Okay, so now you can count me in on the hmmmmm and start to get a bit concerned.

Yea but i'm not overly concerned.

Channeling my inner Dr. Chau dollars to donuts I bet he has a Grade 1 AC joint sprain. Needs a couple of weeks to rest.

I strongly and respectfully disagree with your opinion on Westover.

My opinion on Westover is that he's a guy learning the position after being, primarily, a pass-catching TE in College. He's not Develin. He's barely serviceable. But the Pats chose him over others they had in and over Jakob Johnson whom they could have had numerous times this season. I know they can upgrade him with Lampe or someone else. I fully expect him to be a PS player next year.

Others have complained about Westover's stance and I showed that both Johnson and Develin used that same stance. Others have complained about Westover and I point out that he's barely 6months into learning the position. I also point out that he played all of 2 Games at the position in HS. So, he started from a blank slate, essentially.

I never said he was an All-Star. But he's not worthless either. He does make 2-3 decent blocks. You know,. Getting to his man and preventing that person from making the stop on the running play. I'm not expecting him to pancake people. I'm not expecting him to drive people out of the hole. I'm expecting him to get to his block and keep that person from being the one to make the play.

If you're expecting more than that, then maybe it's your expectations that need to be re-evaluated.

Should have done it this year with the new winning regime.
Unless the plans have already been finalized, Bob won't change these uniforms if they win next Sunday.
NFL needs to bring back the Super Bowl logos and put them at midfield. The lazy NFL logo at midfield and trophy looks like something in Madden.
