I wish the NYFL would have a rule forbidding teams talking with potential suitors until after the season ends!

Money, money…money makes us all do dumb things. If someone throws cash my way, i’ll be gone.
You don’t have any. Josh does.

If he leaves I'm finding his new house and takin a dump on the welcome mat.

I'm not buying it. I think Vrabel discussed this with MacDaniels prior to hiring him and MacDaniels gave assurances that he would be here for at least a few years. But that's just my belief.

Yeah, given that Vrabel cited Maye as one of the main reasons he came, I can't imagine he wanted him to have yet another OC next year.

Leave a team that has a franchise QB in place for the next 15 years and go to one of the worst organizations in professional sports? Bad idea. I also can't imagine Vrabel would have hired him without being sure McDaniels would be in NE for the long-term.

I don't believe he will get another HC opportunity from anyone. He was a disaster in Denver & Vegas.
Door 1: Go down as the GOAT OC

Door 2: Fail as a HC for 3rd time

Why would you choose door 2?

I highly, highly doubt McDaniels have those assurances and also that Vrabel would have the audacity to ask for them. Limiting career growth opportunists runs 100% counter to Vrabel’s attitude about wanting the best for his players and coaches. If McDaniels ever does want to be a head coach again, there’s some history that will make it tough to where he can’t pass up opportunities if there’s one he wants. He’s not guaranteed unlimited chances

I don't know why being an NFL head coach is considered the end-all/be-all for successful coordinators. Other than ego, that is. A guy like McDaniels already has millions in the bank and gets paid at or near top for his position. Plus, the head coaching role is more administratively oriented these days than ever -- why volunteer for all those headaches?

Porterhouse Steak
I don't think you remember that someone posted a rumour and their source went by the name of grilled cheese. this was last year.

It would be bad for Maye. He’d be going onto his 3rd OC in 3 years in the NFL. His 5th in 5 years overall (2 OCs in 2 years in college).

That being said, there’s some decent offensive minds available. Kliff Kingsbury is one, Brian Daboll is another. One guy I’d love to look at is Charlie Weis Jr. a brilliant offensive mind, he was at Ole Miss the last few years and has moved to LSU with Lane Kiffin. Has coached under his dad, Steve Sarkisian and Lane Kiffin, all brilliant offensive minds. Both Daboll and Weis Jr. come from the Weis/McDaniels offense. Of course putting their own spin on things. But I don’t think the offense would change too much under either.

I still don’t think McDaniels leaves. His family love the New England area, he’s done a fantastic job with Maye, helping the Pats turn around the team quickly. Why ruin a good thing.

I can't imagine Josh is going to uproot his family again to take a job with a team with no QB.

They are interviewing a number of candidates

Along with Robert Saleh, the Cardinals are reportedly currently targeting four others:
  • Denver Broncos DC Vance Joseph
  • Seattle Seahawks OC Kliny Kubiak
  • Miami Dolphins DC Anthony Weaver
  • New England Patriots tight ends coach and passing game coordinator Thomas Brown
