Late season (Baltimore game forward) injury tracker

Kind of interesting that two in-game CB injuries weren’t enough to get Battle on the field. On the final defensive play, they put Jones outside, Pettus in the slot on Flowers, and Mapu as the deep safety.

That playoff bye week looks even better if we can fend off NYJ and MIA with a depleted roster and LAC takes out Denver.
Yeah, it's gonna come down to the last game of the season probably. The donkies should destroy the depleted KC next week.

I thought it would be useful to have a thread to provide a single place to keep track of injuries coming down to the end of the season, especially all of the injuries that occurred during the Baltimore game.

Here are the players that I know were injured against the Ravens:

Henderson - did not return, reported as head injury. Assume he will be in concussion protocol.
Boutte - did not return, reported as head injury. Assume he will be in concussion protocol.
Douglas - did not return. Hamstring.
Diggs - returned to action. Shoulder (?).
Moses - returned to action. Knee.
Munford - returned to action briefly in jumbo package. Knee (or hip?).
Tonga - did not return. Foot.
Farmer - did not return. Hamstring.
Woods - did not return. Ankle.
Davis - did not return (late in game). Shaken up, stayed down after making tackle. Left field under his own power.
Maye - shaken up on 3Q tackle, returned on next series.

From last pregame injury report:

Spillane - OUT (knee) on last pregame injury report. Did not play.
Barmore - Questionable (knee) on last pregame injury report. Played.
Davis - Questionable (hip) on last pregame injury report. Played, injured in game, apparently unrelated.
Ellis - Illness reported on last pregame injury report. Played.
Jones - Questionable (knee) on last pregame injury report. Played.
Landry - Questionable (knee) on last pregame injury report. Did not play.

Also, currently on IR:

Alex Austin - undisclosed injury, eligible to return week 18
Will Campbell - knee (MCL?), eligible to return week 18
Marcellas Dial - placed on IR during training camp (ACL), not eligible to return
Yasir Durant - waived injured in training camp, not eligible to return
Antonio Gibson - ACL, out for season
Isaiah Iton - waived injured (hip) in training camp, not eligible to return
Terrell Jennings - concussion, eligible to return for playoffs
Brock Lampe - placed on IR during training camp (hip?), not eligible to return
Lan Larison - placed on IR during training camp (foot), not eligible to return
Jaquelin Roy - placed on IR during training camp (foot, injured in 2024), not eligible to return
Milton Williams - high ankle sprain, eligible to return week 17
I can't believe I'm saying this, but I would rather have Austin rather than Woods as a backup CB

We need the Chargers to be playing for something in week 18. If LA beats Houston next week, Denver-LA will be for the division.

We should also be rooting for Indy the next few weeks. One Indy loss clinches a wild card spot for the Chargers. If Indy keeps winning, and Chargers lose next week, the Chargers will most likely need to win week 18 for a playoff birth.

Now if Indy loses a game, and the Chargers lose next week, LA would have clinched a wild card spot and already out of the division. (assuming Denver wins on Christmas night).

Add another one.

Jared Wilson is in concussion protocol, according to Vrabel today. He also confirmed both Henderson and Boutte are in the protocol. So they have three concussion cases at this time.

Bolt up!

Go Chargers!

Sources say 1-2 weeks for tonga which is great news for playoffs.

Better than I had feared. Seems likely he will miss both Jetes and Phins games and be ready to go for the playoffs. That’s what I want to see for all the walking wounded.

It will make the next 2 games more challenging.

Im glad everyone will be back for the playoffs, but they still have to field a team the next two weeks.

Yep, i feel like if Williams is back that might make his absence much more manageable.

Spillane hurts alot, going into the season many felt hes not one of our best players but one of the guys we can least afford to lose. Weve seen that come to fruition the last couple weeks. But it also helps when the other teams qb is someone i never heard about until last week and not Josh Allen or Lamar jackson who have a giant impact on the run game with their athleticism and the actual threat of the pass game . It was really the worst part of the schedule he could go out. Think we”ll be fine now

Having Williams back to practicing makes it seem likely that he will be playing in the next two games to end the season. That’s a big help.

Farmer to IR is not a help.

Spillane being out of the walking boot is encouraging. It would be great to have him back against the Jete but only if he’s fully healed. We’ll have to wait and see I guess.

Thank you? LOL

Seriously, banged up but learning to next-man-up and even win (moderate) comebacks. We're building toward being able to say "as long as 10 is upright..." etc.

Yep. There's a positive side to this, the playing time gets depth players real action and more prepared to play if needed.

Any updates on injury to Spillane, Tonga , Boutte, williams ? Will they play against fins or will it be in playoffs ?

I’m waiting to see if Boutte and Wilson are making progress through the concussion protocol.

Haven’t seen much on the others except Williams started practicing again, and Campbell may start practicing. If I had to guess I’d expect Williams might be reactivated from IR this week if he looks good, although it may come down to roster slot availability. Doubt Campbell will be back this week.

I’d like to see Spillane and Tonga rested this week if it helps them be healthier for the playoffs. Same for Landry. Will be interesting to see how practice goes.

Boutte was listed as full participant in practice today.

Believe that is the last step before being cleared from concussion protocol.
