2025 / 2026 College watch thread

Ohio State need a positive clip

Not a good first half for Siereveld. Mind you, the way Mesidor and Bain are playing, I don't think any OT would cope.

Well done Miami. That was an awesome game but the Miami OL and DL and Mark Fletcher won it. Carson Beck didn't make any mistakes either. Ohio State couldn't produce much of a pass rush.

Mesidor was excellent in the first half. Bain was excellent throughout.

If you win the battle of the lines on both sides, the rest of the game is so much easier.

Just watched the highlights. Miami appeared to play a very tough physical game and were just too much for Ohio State where it mattered.

Draft things I learned last night. Nothing too original.

1. If somehow Bain falls to us, probably unlikely after last night, he's a must take. I started the season off saying that Bain was a perfect Vrabel pick. With his violent hands, that was confirmed.

2. Mesidor is awesome. I'm still not sure if I'd take him in the first because of his age but if you can trade back into the 2nd, I'd absolutely draft him and get the additional pick. He Bain and Bailey might be the three best pass rushers in this class.

3. Will Kacmarek and Max Klare were good last night and partly responsible for the near Ohio State turn around because of their blocking.

4. Mark Fletcher is better than I thought. A day 3 RB but he runs hard. I hear lots of good things about his character. He had a fumble last night, but that was the only one of the season.

5. Francis Mauigoa was excellent. I don't see how he falls to us.

6. The Ohio State pass rush was a bit meh.

7. Miami and Texas Tech have been two of my favourite teams this year because of their aggressive hard hitting defenses. Miami really showed that last night.

Miami was the better team yesterday, but in spite of all the pressure I think Ohio St. would have pulled it out if not for the Keionte Scott pick 6.

Vrabel says there are a lot of ways to win games in the NFL. One of the most consistently effective ones is to be more physical than the other team and not turn the ball over.

Bain, Mesidor and Scott didn't do us any favors for the draft.

Also a good reminder that seeding counts for nothing. The hot hand counts much more. Ohio St. missed out on a bye last year and dominated over 4 games. This year they seemed to run out of steam - both Indiana and Miami were more physical, which should never happen.

Also a reminder that champions are forged through adversity.

My biggest concern for Miami is whether Carson Beck and Mario Cristobal can sustain not making key mistakes over multiple games.

Carson Beck not making a mistake last night was a big reason for the win.

Right. Let's see how good this Texas Tech defense really is.

Do you have commentary in the US? It's missing here.

David Bailey with the first drive sack to force the FG.

Another binky fest like yesterday
