100% correct.I think Josh Allen as the best QB in the NFL (and thus the world) is a pretty popular opinion. There are certainly valid criticisms of him, but most people probably have him #1.
Mahomes hasn't been statistically as good for a while now. Lamar Jackson has a shakier individual playoff history. Maye is in his first year playing at this type of level. Stafford has never been an MVP type of guy before this. Hurts has team success but isn't individually on that level. Herbert isn't an MVP type of guy. On an on.
I think a good 25 years we had "best in the world" be a guy who is in discussion for #1 all time and Allen isn't that level, so maybe it feels a little over-the-top to say he's "best in the world" but it's actually pretty realistic. I think it'd be a hotter take to say he isn't #1 QB playing right now than that he is.
If Maye has another season like this one next year we are having a different conversation, but as of today, Allen is the best QB in the world.
