Would Drake have a QB rating of 116 the entire year if Hollins didn't play? Yes or no?
Says the guy who said I needed help with what a route run is. If you want to play the hurling of insults game, thats fine.
I'm not touting Hollins. I'm stating he is more valuable and productive in the offense then Douglas and Williams.
You've said if Harry played the same amount of snaps as Hollins he would be more productive. If you want to backtrack on that statement thats fine. Theres a lot more to being a successful WR than yards/catches per routes ran.
Never said talented. Said not as productive.
See above
You are anchored to the notion that Hollins is the reason Maye has a 116 QB rating w/o him and a 104 rating with him and is based on 1/2 the snaps. If you want to compare apples to apples what is Mayes QB rating and stats on the routes run by Hollins and someone else. We all know Hollins is #1 in WR snaps on running plays. There is a reason for that.
Sure. Coaches want to play WRs with more drops and less success catching the ball all the time....please.
He runs intermediate to deep routes. Look at the ave target depth. Hes 13. Douglas is under 10yds. The farther a player is away from the QB, the lower the Qb rating typically is. Diggs is almost 9. Boutte is insane at almost 17yds. Thats Wes Chandler Chargers numbers..
If you want to agree with me, say "target Boutte more and Hollins less" .
Thats the Sony Michel argument. Hollins has produced here. That is a fact - not a speculation.
Yes it is irrelevant. Hollins contract expired numerous times and the other team wanted him. Philly, BUF. You imply he was cut everywhere and that's not true. Allen had a 118 qb rating throwing to Hollins last year and they wanted him back..Hollins is a WR3/4/5. Those guys move teams all the time.
I can’t answer what Mayes passer rating would be in a fictitious would,I can only answer that when Hollins wasn’t on the field it was much better. Seems pretty clear the offense was more effective with the bother receivers on the field instead.
By the way 76% of the snaps Diggs didn’t play, Hollins did, so the primary WR sitting when Hollins is playing has been Diggs.
You started that thing.
But Hollins has not been more valuable and productive when on the field. That’s literally the point. The numbers Hollins put up are less than what the other receivers put up per playing time. We are playing a guy who gives production for being in the field, but it’s less production than we get when someone else is on the field. Per 500 pass routes Douglas produced 998 receiving yards. Hollins produces 800. You are correct that Hollins has production, no one disputes that, but the level of production is not good. Now Maye has elevated him to decent this year when for the rest of his career he has been awful in this metric, but when we play receivers other than Hollins, we do better. All the twisting and churning you want to do doesn’t make that go away.
You really like to misquote me don’t you. I said that Harry HAS played said and so has Hollins and through 2024 they were basically equally productive measured by receiving yards. That is indisputable. I’m not backtracking at all. You implying that I said something I didn’t is a you problem.
You didn’t say talented or productive, you said better. Again you are twisting words to alter the discussion in hindsight
See above? Where you misquoted me? Still not correct.
I am not “anchored” to anything but I am focused on the most important metric in deciding whether Hollins will be missed, the stats we have produced when he wasn’t on the field. What could possibly be more pertinent.
The numbers I posted ARE the stats per routes run, because they are the PASSING stars with and without Hollins on the field.
In other words those stats show the difference between when we throw the ball with Hollins as one of the 5 receivers vs when someone else is in his place. The entire operation. We do much better when it’s someone. I think you are arguing against something you misunderstand. Let me clarify
The numbers I posted are Drake Mayes numbers when Hollins is one of his receivers running a route compare to when someone else is. The gap got wider this week, probably by a decent amount because the game Hollins missed was Mayes best game.
Who has more stops and less success? The whole break down is about what you produce per route. If Douglas runs 500 routes and produces 998 yards but Hollins runs 500 and produces 800, Douglas produced more, even if he had more drops. Those are the real numbers.
Put another way, when Maye drops back to pass he is more lectin fund an open receiver and complete more passes for more yards when hollins is on the bench than when he is on the field. Historically this has been true of Hollins his entire career.
Passer rating is not lower with deeper throws, especially with Maye. The higher ypa overcomes the lower completion % (not much lower with Maye) and the td rate is higher.
But again the numbers I am showing encompasses all of that.
Let me clarify. The numbers and passer rating is just one, show that EVERY metric, even including sacks btw, is better when Hollins is not on the field than when he is. Ironclad, no question. The passer rating isn’t affected by hollins adot, because it’s ALL throws. Additionally while the production is less when Hollins is in the field, his production per route run is low.
I'm not saying target anyone more or less, Drake Maye is literally a genius at making that decision. I’m saying leave Hollins off the field so Maye has more open receivers to find. When Holllins is running one of the routes Maye completes a lower percentage of passes, for fewer yards per attempt, less Td%, higher int % and get sacks quite a bit more often. Reread that sentence. It basically summarizes the entire argument. Drake Maye does better without Hollins than with him. Indisputable.
Hollins has produced because he was put on the field. Others when put on the field produce better.
Hollins production has been at best mediocre. He has put up 3 catches for 37 yards a game while playing 68% of the snaps. And about 58% of the passes. Sure that’s production but it’s not acceptable production. Any team with a starting WR who gives them 37 yards a game will be looking to replace him asap.
Here is a comparison
Devante Parker averaged 36 yards per game as a patriot playing 70% of the snaps. Was he successful? He “produced” right?
Ok when a guy plays in a team and they choose not to bring him back that’s meaningless, gotcha. We shouldn’t want players who play well enough that there team wants them back. We should want starters who no one wants to give more than a 1 year contract. And don’t fool yourself that there was outbidding going on. The last 4 years before he found out 2year 8.4 mill gold mine, he was paid a combined 4 year total of 8.2 mill. The market says he should be on the bubble for a roster spot, just like his metrics do.
