2026 Draft: Cornerback

When I was watching the game yesterday, early on Carlton Davis gave up a reception but immediately tackled his man bringing him up short of a first down and I figured that's something Vrabel probably appreciates. Anyway, it inspired me enough to look up the missed tackles in coverage stat.

First the bad news. Keionte Scott is the worst at this with 9. Jyaire Hill also not good with 8.

The best? All with one:

Domani Jackson
Chris Johnson
Devin Moore
Tacario Davis
Keith Abney
D'Angelo Ponds

Just another data point.

Domani Jackson is Godawful as a tackler and in run support, so I wouldn't read too much into that.

I saw this live and was very impressed. 185lb corner takes on the blocker and then makes the tackle for a loss on 4th and 1. Canady punches above his weight. This is such a good NCB class. Him, Ponds, Scott, Stukes and even Terrell and Abney.

"He isn’t a twitchy coverage option but plays with excellent anticipation and aggression."

"diagnoses route combinations at a high level and quickly triggers to contest and break up slants and digs."

"make plays at the catch point on deep routes."

"makes enough of his one-on-one tackles in space to be a solid contributor in that area."

Now tell me that doesn't sound like someone who can transition to safety.

I see Stukes as a mostly safety/part nickel/occasional boundary CB.

I was tempted to post the eval in the safety thread.

James Foster said that Mel Kiper has said he's been getting round 2 feedback from NFL teams on Jermod McCoy.

Makes sense, will he test?

Has to be the best way to help his stock although I think the on-field sessions will be more important than the testing.

Boom! James Foster says Treydan Stukes is his no 1 NCB in this draft.

"Alarming medicals" for Devin Moore

"Alarming medicals" for Devin Moore

2025 was his first year with over 300 snaps. He did miss two games this year but they weren't back to back games which suggests they weren't serious injuries.

30 games in 4 years (5, 7, 7, 11). Shoulder injury as Freshman. Concussion and back issues in 2023. Shoulder as a Junior.

Devan Boykin, NCB/S, Indiana 5-10, 195
He has elite defensive grades across the board.

Run Defense - 93.4 (The highest graded run defender at either CB or safety in CFB)
Tackling - 88.2 (Only 3 missed tackles all year)
Coverage - 88.2

He doesn't look to have Keionte Scott's explosiveness, but file him under "just draft Indiana guys late day 3". He's someone that James Foster has started talking about. He'll be a good one to watch tomorrow night. Late day 3 binky?
