Just a beating. I know the jets are garbage but WOW. Also, everyone was hyped by Diggs "Moss catch" but his very first catch of the game was nasty. The moves he used to get open is damn near impossible to stop in the middle of the field and shows why he is open within the first five yards on almost every snap. Moves like that and his ability to catch contested catches show that he is without a doubt still a #1wr despite his age and injury history.

BTW, is it my imagination or is Brady Cook NOT among the worst QB I've ever seen? The whole team was trash but he was attempting real passes and not just draws and screens. He seemed on par or better than other terrible Jets QBs we've seen over the years. The Luke Falks and Bryce Petties, etc., who were downright embarrassing. A low bar but I think he cleared it.

Against a bad Jete team and he lost his balance on the first catch, but I just saw some Amendola in him today. Not fast but was hitting the routes correctly, using quickness to get himself open, strong hands and overall toughness. I think he’s benefited a ton by being on the roster and learning behind the scenes while not being beaten up. Will be interesting to see how he looks in next year’s training camp with a full year of the system and full offseason program.
2nd best blocking WR on the team....nickname is mini-mack

Boring game in a good way, compare to losing a boring game in a bad way....
One stat they flashed Maye's 90% completion rate + 5 TD's has not been done since 1961... very impressive.
No significant injuries, O line held up well... influence of a great coaching by Marrone???
Henderson quietly rushed for 82 yards, O ROY???
Miami comes to us next week @4:25.. then the playoffs.

I have thought of Doug Marrone's influence with this offense a few times. The overall experience of the coaching staff is unreal considering 5 of them were former Head Coaches ( Brown interim included).
So with the apparent Elite ability of Drake Maye, Josh McDaniels and Doug Marrone etc, it makes for a nice blend of superb talent mixed with first class Coaching experience.

Just watched a little of the all-22 to check out Swinson and Chism.
Bradyn Swinson-Was interested to see what he's been working on behind the scenes to refine his pass rush. For the most part its apparently run straight into the blocker and stay there LOL. He badly lost most reps. He did have 2 rep wins against a Tight End but also got pancaked by a TE on a running play. Ran a bunch of stunts but only 1 of them he was able to get him free for a mild pressure. The last 2 plays Ponder was rushing from the other side and got pressure twice while Swinson was doing nothing. Clear difference in these 2 players. Swinson tried 1 spin move, with pretty good success, but lost balance a bit and let QB escape out of pocket to his side. Overall, he has a ton of work to do to stick on the roster next year.

Efton Chism-Didn't hurt his stock at all in this game, technically could have had 4 TD's. If he didn't stumble maybe he goes all the way. He had the one he caught and then twice he got open deep but wasn't thrown to. 1 play was over the middle complete to Diggs but just as Drake went to start the motion to throw Chism's CB stumbled and Chism came free deep but 21 yards to Diggs was the proper read, wasn't enough time to stand in pocket and wait. The other is the photo below, the LB is trying to go deep with him and Dobbs checks it down but check out all the space Chism has. Not sure Chism did a ton on those 2 plays, but he got open so maybe he was smart with the route he took or maybe Jets just stink. What was impressive was his separation ability on cuts. I see why he gets separation. Over and over again he stuck his foot in the ground and made a cut at the top of the route to get himself open. He was open quite a bit but so was the first read. He's not going to run a Kyle Williams set up outside and run straight deep play. HIs sudden change of direction and ability to seemingly find the holes in the defense was impressive. It was the Jets though so....still have to wonder if he can still do it against NFL caliber DB's. Hey, you play against who you play against and he was impressive.

Play below the safety to the top is eying the other receiver, the LB is not going full speed, Chism has a yard step on him when Dobbs passes. Dobbs looks there it's a long TD.

Remember when people complained the Pats overpaid Stefon Diggs?

Remember when Bills and Vikes fans said "Wait, until you see December Diggs" saying that he falls apart in December?

Props to Stefon Diggs!
He has turned out to be a GREAT signing.
He is very deserving of the 500k incentive earned.
Key team leader

There was a guy at work who started talking about "December Diggs" and how he was going to fall off a cliff. I never believed that it would happen. Whoever this guy was, it doesn't matter anymore. Because as of now- TODAY- he's a winner.

So deeper thoughts on the game.

#1 Drake 'Drake Maye' Maye. Not a lot of throws were a super high degree of difficulty. But he did great. Nothing else to say.

#2 The OL played really well today, and did it down 2 starters. I think we are seeing the depth at play here and it has become respectable. One of the things the Jets do well is rush the passer... and the OL held up well today. I know they were without McDonald who is their best guy, but still this pass rush ins't all that bad without him. Though clearly not nearly as good. The point is they aren't trash. But the did very little vs our OL. Maye usually had the time he needed even when the first read wasn't there. So while i never wish injuries to happen, they do and i think this OL will be stronger for it come playoff time. Now if someone goes down in that run (outside of Campbell) I will not think it is the end of the season.

#3 Williams making steady progress. Still has stuff to work out, but progress is progress. Hold on to the damn ball though... first drop of the year and it was his easiest catch yet. Isn't that how it goes sometimes?

#4 Stevenson. While i still don't love the contract, when he doesn't fumble he is a starting quality RB and has turned into a decent pass catcher against all logic. Henderson is the crown jewel due to his home run ability, though as one poster has pointed out his reads at time need work. But Stevenson's saavy has shined though. He almost put the ball on the ground today transitioning it between arms. He better not be getting too comfortable again. I hated him when he was so focused on the ball it hurt his production, and now he is in danger of playing too loose again. Find that happy medium.

#5 Chism! Love to see it. As pointed out here he got open on a few other plays vs this trash secondary. I still have hopes for him. He will need to continue this into next game and into the playoffs. We can't not expect 100 yards from Diggs every game and now with Hollins out we need other guys to start carrying the load more often. More Hooper seems to be the easiest option... one big body for another. But that alone isn't enough. They need more from Boutte, Williams, Chism and Hooper all together.

#6 On Defense you can point to the run D... I won't, They had back ups in for back ups at that point. I am not worried. 58 rush yards in the first 3 QTs... They surrendered more total after that. Schooler i think was the safety and I have no idea who was on the line. Let em have it. I am happy with how our run D contained the very competent Hall and that decent OL to that point, particularly considered they were down Tonga, Williams and Farmer.

#7 We really need Williams back. It has become clear for the front 7/6 he is the straw that stirs the drink. With him in the line up suddenly everything else falls into place. We start getting more pressure for all 4 spots cause of his impact and this means the DBs need to defend less long as well as the LBs are in a little better position to make plays. I think Williams injury is being very underestimated. With him i don't think the Bills score those 5 straight TDs on us... no way. He is the MVP of the D and that has been made clear I think. Keeping all 5 DBs healthy is also extremely important but without Williams they can't cover forever.

#8 Special teams was huge this game to me. Yes the missed FG is a concern. But back to the loss to the Bills... a huge factor was their huge returns. This STs unit took on the best STs unit in the NFL and gave them nothing all game. If this team wants to win they need every edge they can get. And winning in STs and the field position battle be a great way to help get that edge.

#9 Hawkins is getting more expensive by the game. IDK how it will play out as this is far and away his best year ever IMO. To pay or not to pay. We will see how it goes.

#10 I loved the offensive game plan today. It was nice to see a successful screen, even if vs the Jets... but i think they need to include more things or have them ready. Things other NFL teams are taking advantage of. The modified tush push, the lateral after the catch (the Bills used that one a few times), RPOs (Though those have had issues when they have used them.. need to work on it.) I hope they have some of those ready for the playoffs particularly against good Ds. The one I want to see is a Diggs catch then lateral to the streaking Williams. I think that could be devastating.
